Yamaha Expanded Softsynth Plugin for MONTAGE M v2.0.1-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 15 Nov 2024 | 16.8MB
A game-changer for recording musicians, the Expanded Softsynth Plugin (ESP) replicates the MONTAGE M in your favorite DAW.

Free for all registered MONTAGE M owners, the ESP allows you to create, edit and mix MONTAGE M Performances anywhere you happen to be – without the hardware.

No other competitor has this level of seamless integration.

Advantage of ESP (software)
・ Ultimate mobility - You can realize all of MONTAGE M just by laptop.
・ Ultimate Work Efficiency - Offline processing, rendering.
・ All settings are saved in your DAW project for easy totall recall.
・ Can be launched on any number of ESP as long as your PC specifications allow.
・ Can be edited more information on the large PC screen.

The new ESP plugin is a standalone software Synthesizer that replicates the Montage M sound engine in your favorite DAW. In easy, you get the Montage M as a virtual instrument for Ableton Live, Logic Pro…

It gives you in your hands the same engines as in the hardware, including the new AN-X, even without it being connected. Very handy when you are on the move, and your Montage M is on stage or in the studio. So you always have the sounds with you.

Also neat, you can make new sounds with the ESP soft synth and export them to the hardware or vice versa. So you can visit another Montage M in his studio and take your sounds with you.

A witch says,

* No SteinbergActivationManage is required.
* Loads fster than legit version.
* No compatibility issue with other legit Silk and Silk powered apps.

Read included R2R.txt to see how to install.

Can anyone confirm if the high cpu usage in older machines has been fixed with this version. otherwise no need to download. thanks

I have an older Intel CPU. When I play it glitches a lot, but REAPER records the audio just fine for me. I haven't tried older versions. It's only a 7Gb download after all...

anyone found how you make your own arps with the plugin?
It's something you can do with hardware but i can't find how in the vst plugin version...

It's probably not something i'm going to use, nice to try out but I think as a VST it's not really anything special, even the GUI is pretty poor so i can't even see me using it as an FM synth.

The number of presets is impressive. The FM sounds don't require a powerful CPU. The thing can handle 1-8 "parts"; the sounds with 1 part play easily and as you can guess the 8 part ones will glitch (on my older CPU that is).

If you are thinking about getting the hardware workstation, auditioning this plugin is a must IMHO.

For FM sounds, you're probably better off with Arturia DX7, NI FM8 or tracktion F'em or any of the other top FM contenders out there.

I'm unable to play a simple comp piano part with sparse embellishments for more than 15 seconds before my CPU says NO. 12 core i9 4.25Ghz 32gb ram.

Wow my CPU is super poor compared to yours and I'm able to audition all the presets, with some glitching here and there... Sorry...

this version of crack uses to much CPU. I watched a video on YouTube where the guy duplicated 124 instances and all playing at the same time before the CPU reached 100 yet this version, only one copy and I can barely play any patch without the CPU reaching 100% and cutting out the sound

The guy in the video above is using a Mac M2 Pro (so, a pretty recent processor) along with a bespoke-written Yamaha/Steinberg ASIO driver and the Montage-M's built in interface, which is probably the best one for optimum performance to run the ESP
CPU and drivers (audio or otherwise) Matter (and it especially helps not having lots of interrupted/dropped CPU cycles due to other poorly written drivers, e.g. WLAN or GFX)

I'm going to test this thing soon on my ickle baby i5 9600 K and will report back on my experience. & If I have time I might try it out on the Ryzen 7 5800H laptop? Obviously I'm not expecting much out of the Intel machine, but for those on here with superior specs complaining of bad performance, there simply must be other bottlenecks in your systems, such as the one mentioned above.

Okay... Sorry for the wait!
An incredibly beautiful sounding instrument that installed, runs and plays flawlessly <3 Just a pity it soon causes a performance peak in a single core. No crackle, no delay, perfect response... until it decides to limit the polyphony because said core briefly peaked.

Turns out I had the ASIO buffer size at 128 or 160. As I increased the buffer, lo and behold, the polyphony increased and was still pretty playable at 1024 samples (with a minor, noticeable but still playable delay). I always had to have this buffer set as low as possible in the past in order to achieve fast, playable response, but it seems the ASIO drivers have improved greatly since then if I can now get away with it at considerably higher values and also get more polyphony out of my virtual instruments. :D

So, I would still need to freeze track or bounce down to audio as soon as possible or else I wouldn't be able to run much else :') but other than that it is definitely playable and usable and I'm delighted to finally get my hands on some nice Yamaha sounds again ^_^
Running Windows 10 22H2, i5 9600K, 16 GB RAM, M.2 drives. Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 (2nd gen)

Note to all plugin developers of virtual instruments - Please code them with multi-core support!!!

Thank you ridiculous amounts to supplier, R2R and DECiBELLE

Check your ASIO configuration and buffer size. This VST make a big use of the CPU but here work fine in almost all songs. I use Windows 11 with WinUtil to deactivate all background process and other microsoft unused apps.

well if thats the case then the Montage M ESP minimum requirement is CPU: Intel Core i5 (4th Gen) or later for Windows, or Intel Core i5 (late 2015 or later) or Apple Silicon M1 or later for Mac
RAM: 8 GB or more

my specs are
Intel i7 11th gen with 32GB of ram with RTX 3060 for graphics card. I'm also using Audient iD14 MKII for Audio Interface. I think this specs should be more than enough to run this application. I have a lot of VST's on my computer and none gives me any issues except this one.

You can go to Yamaha and get like 4 or 5 Synth libraries free, you dont have to show proof of purchase.

I stand corrected, there are some patches that really pin the CPU

ESP with R2R patch working fine under Windows 7 SP1.
The minimum requiremnts are wrong , it can be installed in W7 SP1 without any problem.
The only detail is that I have added the library by hand copyng it to %ProgramData%.
My system Supermicro X11SAE, Intel 7700K and 32Gb RAM.
I have installed "wufuc" for to force hardware compatibility.
Proofed with Cubase 12 for W7, StudioOne 4.5.3, Cubase 6.5 Artist x64, Cantabile 4 and other x64VST hosts and Reaper 7.

MONTAGE ESP sounds fantastic, while playing around with ESP and Cubase 14 I noticed that scene changes are not being recorded in Cubase? does anyone know if Montage ESP is sending the scene change data to Cubase or is that not possible? is there specific setting in Cubase? would appreciate input
  Member 24.01.2014 41

you could record the Controller for scene change at the begining of your cubase track.
I'm not at my computer now but i gess it's cc92 (can be set in settings)
Value should be scene number -1 x 16
Scene 1 is 0 thru 15
Scene 2 is 16 thru 31
And so on.
