I see it more philosophically...
TCD is moving forward. We didnt have an easy time and losses are clearly noticeable. A pothead version ist just right to put a smile on our faces. music doesnt depend on specs. I had my first cubase on an Atari 1040 STE and a monochrome monitor.

cubase 5 original x64 is a beast, the fastest cubase ever. so snappy on mouse.
SOmetimes i get tired and open projects from cubase 13 on it and it works!!
And i always get good results until i need a better time strech like elastique, for me this is the only new thing and more than 8 inserts that changed for what i use hahaha

Albeit I am on Reaper I kinda love old shit. Back then, by the end of the 90's, I bought Cubase Audio 3.7 which was the introduction to VST technology for 1200 DM (german marks). I would never go back to Cubase, but nonetheless a nice up.

I have an HP mini 110 laptop. It's a 32 bit machine. I can stuff it in a backpack with my Tascam US-800 interface and record 8trks live up in the clubs. Cubase 5 is PERFECT for that setup. On a related note my daughter told me about this new way to listen to music she "discovered". She called them vinyl records and figured us old farts weren't hip to this new technology.

Cubase 5, as well as Reason 5, are absolutely not demanding on computer resources; moreover, they work perfectly on any Windows. When I have more free time, I want to flash my pad 5 tablet on Windows for these DAWs. Is there anyone on this forum who has already done this?

if was possible to use the cubase 5 skin on cubase 13, there is something about this appeareance that make it so good and fast, everything flat and fast, for me they destroyed the cubase skin, it's more beautiful nowadays, but less functional even in a good computer

Cubase 5 always has a special place in my heart, I used it for about 10 years. But why revert back to it when we're now on Cubase13?

Is anyone else having the issue of installing this over the AiR release, and the program crashing on launch with the error "File SYNSOEMU.DLL could not be located in the Windows system folders"?

The file is in both System32 and SysWOW64, and the dongle emulator should be working correctly, but it won't open. I've tried on both Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 10 21H2. Anyone have any ideas?

Same here. It also killed the AiR installation completely. Re-installing the synchrosoft emu didn't help either.

NOT recommended.
