White 3 is an exciting plugin suite that embodies the best features of the esoteric hardware found in the renowned Italian studio, White Sound Mastering.

This suite is a recreation of their in-house WSM units. They include a solid-state P-style EQ with dual-mono channel topology and a dual line preamplifier designed for mastering, plus an extra mastering cutting filter section designed to Tommy Bianchi's specifications.

The only Nebula stuff that put me off was some of the older tapes which the installation confused me a bit because there were new files in some of em so i just didn't bother with some of those tapes. Nebula also uses a lot of CPU just like AA in most cases even more CPU but the sound you get out of it at least for me is totally worth it and i also swicthed to reaper and all of my CPU problems are solved. But WHITE 3 sounds pretty good just tried it on a Master again and i like the sound. But compared to Timp and some other Pultecs i would describe WHITE 3 as a very clean/bright and analog sounding Pultec with a more "focused" sound to it and again i dont like what its doing to the Low End.

Thanks! Yes, I agree. I just loaded in the TimP Dual Tech and gave it a whirl and you’re right, the low end has great depth. It does make White sound a bit thin. I do find the Nebula module stacking a little annoying. And I found I was getting a weird hollowing out of the vocals. I feel like the convolution might be exaggerating the vocal bleed that was on my upright bass mic. This was a live recording. Or maybe the attenuation is going into the mids a bit. Im not sure. I’m going to keep playing with it though, to take out that hollowness. I like the depth of the sound overall so it seems like it’ll be worth puzzling through it. Everything is a learning curve. 😊

Weird hollowness? i don't think i experienced what you are talking about but it might be due what you are talking about with your mic bleed. You have to also make sure to stack everything correctly and also try out the different Pre's. Also check out the Nebula skins from Azzimov which makes using a lot of libraries like the Dual Tech more easy to use because the gui gets updated to look/work/feel more like normal plugins.

Yes, it was the Pre’s that were causing the issue, and the bleed is definitely part of the issue. I’ll have check for the Azzimov skin. I’m not sure which one I have. Thanks for the info. It’s been very helpful.

I have never gelled with a Pulteq EQ until I used the UAD one. I think the Softube one is the closest though, but it doesn't add as much "weight" to the sound from what I remember when using it (probably less harmonics).

Bro i just downloaded nebula 4 today and used Tim.P dualtech and DAMN. Only 5% CPU at 48khz even better than UAD on low end subs and 808s in my opinion

Sounds really different from other pultec emulation, especially the high end.
Maybe cos it's a different unit
