Run the tool, browse for single VST.dll or VST,3 open it, and you will get report if that plugin is okay.
With R2R release you have no need to run this tool at all. No plugin is depended on this tool.
If you don't know how to use it just skip it, please.
It is so basic and well explained simple usage and still you don't know how to use it.
Sorry, but right now I am speechless.

Please, kids, don't panic!
This is NOT a plugin.
It is a tool FOR a plugin.
For checking if your version of fabfilterXY.dll is one prone to a timebomb.
If you've no clue what this tool does, just skip it.
If you want to learn something: Read the title again.
What words do you not understand.
Then goolge those.
Try "signature of a file". Read sites about that.
Then read discription of release.
Try to find out why this release exists.
Search on the sister site for "Fabfilter timebomb."
Homework: Try to find out how r2r release manages not to timebomb.
Next week we gonna have a test.

Ah sorry didn't mean to lecture you, it was meant for those who thought this is fabfilter and put in in their plugin folder.
You're right, doesn't seem to work on my side either.
tried drag and drop and cmd.
Then I had it run through dependency walker and it does a lot of kernel calls that are not available on my machine (older win 10 version).
It is strange, I wouldnt consider r2r releasing something that doesnt run on a wide range of oses and os-languages.
Maybe we're missing some visualc runtimes?
I don't think that it is malware.
Malware would show something you'd expect.
It would say "hey your dll is awesome, good work!" and then do something in the background.
It wouldn't just have that error message.
Most of Jottys malware scanners say it's ok, but that doesn't mean anything.
You can hide code, those malware scanner just find very common stuff or give false positives. Thats why noone needs those.
Let's see, maybe there's going to be a v1.01 or something.

Cannot open file, Defender is disabled
That to me personally is a sure way to know it is a virus when code disables Defender. I trust most R2R releases here, though I still check everything I download before executing any potential malicious code. Virus Total is a handy tool though it is not a complete virus detection engine. Even proper so called antivirus software suits such Kaspersky, Windows Defender etc all give indications of malicious software, there is no way to tell what antivirus software considers to be a false positive, whether they are malicious false positives or not. They are good indications and it's the user who ultimately decides. Better to be safe than sorry. Always do a complete image backup of your operating system. Always test risky downloads inside "Sandboxie" or "Virtual Box" and do your own testing, safe downloading folks.

I use autopico for registering my windows.
If that tool would kill defender before doing it's job, that would be great.
Because defender kills it the moment I unpack it.
It doesnt even consider it as malware, just as unwanted hacking tool
So because I decide what is unwanted on my machine I have to do disalbe defender manually before I run it.
Killing Defender momentary might be necessary even for a legit r2r tool to do it's work.

quote by PlendixI use autopico for registering my windows.

Of topic but just don't use that tool, it is a malware, indeed.
I have seen a lot of scenarios with that tool and it can affect all cracked programs including music VST, I have seen that a hundred time till now.
There is a far better solution for activating Windows and to be legit as you have paid for it.

Autopico \ KMSpico, is just up and run every time before boot your system and injects the code, there fore is not detected while installed...
That is not a good thing.

And when I say malware I don't mean like classic old fashioned virus, but it affects OS performance a lot. Believe me...
Search in Google for HWID Windows registration.

TEAM R2R FABFILTER SIGNATURE CHECK TOOL is not detected by Windows Defender in latest release with all updates it is clean, and guess what Windows Defender is worst in that area, because most files it is flagging as a malware etc..

seems like this works only for old fabfilter versions?

PLATFORM : WiN32

Am I on to something?
Or can you explain it how to use, like i am 5 years old?

possibly maybe, the kernel calls that ain't found on my win10 could be win32 kernel calls...
Interesting... how would that tool be helpful nowadays... (even if it checked newer plugins, but had to run on win32)

This is just a tool that says to you that SIGNATURE is valid, and SIGNATURE is a part of protection and when you check plugin and SIGNATURE is valid, then you are safe from timebombs.

Which means it has no other use beside that, to tell you that this is legit as LEGIT plugins, and what to expect from other releases plugins.
It is short, but well explained.

Other crackers use bypassing that check to make plugin work, but sometimes that doesn't works as expected if not done properly.

You have installed bad plugins, that is the reason. Possible releases from Team VR or others. Clean you PC from FF plugins, then install R2R plugins bundle, which are by the way same on my PC, your PC etc.
All of us get the same thing , so it is virtually impossible that your plugins from R2R are crooked and mine not.
CLEAN YOUR PC from VR!
