Crave 2 sounds better than Pro Q3 to me too. I just wish it had a dynamic EQ option. The guy who makes it said he has no plans to add dynamic EQ last time I checked.... Sucks.

it sucks indeed. The dynamic eq in pro q3 is very handy when you need to duck frequencies in small amounts and don't need to be specific with attack/release times.
MY GEAR: Only Hi-End HW sonically engineered for us cats, which you've probably never heard about and will never have access to, cuz we r awesome and u suk.

i would take it as they've worked with countless high acts and won awards. you work out of your bedroom.. just saying...

You don't get the point, no one is dissing your idol. It's that presets for EQ don't make much sense. You will still need to make adjustments based on your source. And it doesn't matter how "pro" is the guy behind these presets, they won't be that much of a help, period. At best, you will have a starting point, but no matter what, the majority of work will still have to be done by you.

He is a legend & his presets won't make you any better. He got money for making those presets.
Who knows.. he probably just copied his Pro Q3's presets to the Slate's one.

OMG that's hilarious:
Can you imagine if this is true?

Did Inf EQ supports dynamic equalization now?

Why people hatle slate digital? Their plugins sound amazing and are using by all pros… vtm…some great modules in vmr like fg-s la-2a and preamps…just why?!

Slate is a polarizing figure.
His virtual rack plugins are low cpu and sound good, great for very fast work.
I like to apply his virtual microphones on tracks to make it fatter and more interesting.

The hate comes from the fact that the guy's an egotistical prick and hypes up his plugins way beyond what they are capable of. Some are good and useful for sure, but the competition beats his offerings in most cases. This plugin is a good example of something he claimed was a game changer, in reality it's not even as good as Pro Q2 let alone Pro Q3.

Its a big IF. A pro can use any cheap plugin and make it a weapon of mass destruction, while a noob with a powerful weapon wont even know how to make a spark.

True, bt some tools are better than others... Slates often aren't.

I would not use his 76 compressors for authenticity, that is true.
FG 401 is nice though.
Neve EQ is nice, i avoid his other EQs.

The only software that I really seen as being used by pros (as in grammy winners) are protools and waves (and maybe sonnox and few other specialized components like Autotune and RX). Just because pretty much all the pros are at least since 20 years ago in the business and these are good enough products, that get the job done. They don't need the "best", they only need the best they know to get their stellar job done. The rest of the market (including slate) is pretty much "prosumer" market.

Illangelo used vmr preamps to every track …also vmt … the fg-s is a brilliant tool to sculpt the bad frequencies

I wasn't sure why neither, but than I red the manual for VMR. He overhype his plugins to the point it seems they going to cure a cancer, even in manual in literally every sentence is something like turn this knob and you will hear something you never heard before, best sounding this and that till date, but I am not even exaggerate its in every bloody sentence with every plugin in the bloody manual! Also the manual is full of stories making him look like some one of a kind of genius. So up his own arse it's annoying.

That is so funny . I haven't even bothered to look at slate's manual and I'm someone who reads manual for almost all plugins I use. Now I gotta see this.

If you know what to do in a song this EQ is great. If you don't know no one else will help you.
