Softube Model 72 Synthesizer System v2.5.9-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 03 Jan 2021 | 43.8MB
The monophonic legend, perfected.
Imagine traveling in time to the early '70s, an era where new and experimental sounds were shaping pop music and taking it a step further. Softube's Model 72 Synthesizer System is your vintage synth time machine. It's component modeled down to the smallest details with from 1972 hardware in pristine condition with all the quirks and non-linearities intact, hence the name Model 72.

The result is incredibly authentic sound, with all the warmth and smoothness heard in countless records. Now imagine this classic has traveled into the future to pick up some contemporary features like doubling and spread to create a stereo like sound image and evolve into a full system with multiple versions for different applications. Wish you were here? Take the Autobahn.

Based on a classic analog monophonic synth from the early '70s, with the emphasis on sound quality
A component-modeled marvel that’s true to its era with actual use cases and tricks correctly replicated in the software to take you to funkytown
An entire system that includes a model of the original instrument, an FX version, an Amp Room module, and seven Modular modules

Release includes 7 Modules and 1 AmpRoomModule. These 8 modules are all
unpacked from WrapWarden, we saved another 100MB+ RAM for moduler lovers :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I have to agree with you. I own the legit version and i'm not really impressed. Other Moog emulations like The Legend, Diva, Minimonsta or Monark for example do sound almost the same or even better. This softube synth has a particular sound with a digital edge on it. Difficult to describe, you have to hear it.

None of these moog emulations work in Modular so I don't care. I've got a new train set and I want ALL the engines. OK?

*ALL* soft synths 'sound' digital to me.. yep even the best of the best... but doesn't mean they aren't useful. I treat them like good VA synths. I use REAL analog synths for REAL analog sound.

But maybe not in a mix... and certainly not to most music listeners
At the end of the day, a good song with poor equipment beats a crap song with better technical traits

not to 'most' no... most don't even know what a synthesizer IS.

But to me it counts.. *I* can tell (usually) a shit VA vs real analog in a mix, esp if it's a prominent part that is MEANT to sound like an analog synth. Lots of great digital synths and digital synths in songs out there but when it's ANALOG you want.. well I go to the real thing... if I'm not feeling it then the result won't be authentic either (the song).

same sentiment towards compressor and line amp emulations

Thanks for reading my mind. I own Legend and will definately take this out for a test ride but was hoping someone had compared the two as a "prelude" to my own thorough investigation.

Cheers, SyphonX.

just done a side by side with Monark, Legend they sound very similar to me & can get the phasing & cancelling each other out. Biggest difference by far was the feedback. They all sound great & usable to me but obviously legend has the best features & GUI by far.

Holy shit, one of my favorite synths.

Hopefully, one day I'll get to tell my kids where I was when the wave hit. "There was software as far as the eye could see."
One step at a time, one punch at a time, one round at a time.
