I haven't tried this one yet,
but you can bet DMG EQuilibrium beats MAAT's ass all day long..!

Similarly, I was very hyped with Weiss DS1 when it came out,
it's so featured, and I'm super thankful to R2R for releasing it..

However trying the demo the hype was clear to me,
Elysia Alpha Comp is much muuuch better!

Equilibrium.. i gave up after learning about the FIR. Seems too hard for me (although Im aware I can completely ignore it, and it will still be good). Still using it for Pultec application from time to time when I don't need saturation. My favourite DMG is the Multiplicity though.

IIR mode is better than FIR,
and then it's simple: the more the better!

Bigger window, bigger padding/oversample, and the EQ becomes cleaner and cleaner..
however this kills CPUs for breakfast, so it's only for Mastering, or very special applications.

Also don't forget the parallel peaks/shelves option

Yes, I was comparing Weiss DS1 Comp and Elysia Alpha Comp..

They're different, and have different features,
but in absolute terms as a Master Bus Comp, Elysia is just better..
practically Magic!

tested the DS1 for 20 minutes and figured it is too transparent, even when you crushed it, might be useful in certain situation I think. I love the Alpha but it's too early to tell. Damn idk why i'm having such high hopes for these Weiss'.

Well they're not tools for Coloring and distorting,
but for very Clean/precise and smooth Control of dynamics and peaks..

Again Weiss DS1 has a lot of interesting features very few comps have..

But there's something about Elysia that just makes it perfect for a Master Bus application,
the dynamics/compressor effect is Superb, the sound is warm and good, and then it has the Auto attack/release feature which makes it almost Magic.. not kidding!

Weiss DS1 has very interesting attack/release features,
but it doesn't really Adapt as well to the varying signal..
So like every other compressor out there, it tends to Choke more..

And well in a Master Bus situation that's a deal breaker for me..

Not sure why but all the Weiss plugins, when open, they freeze. The sound start late, the GUI do not work....and can't do anything with them. That happens with all the Weiss plugins....only with them. The rest of the plugins works fine. No idea why?????. I hope it is working fine with everybody else.

Thanks to R2R for the incredible shares!
But yeah, same here, only Weiss plugins cause performance and freezing issues. They are working when using only one of them, at most two or three, but they are killing the CPU when running all of them simultaneously.
Each of them requires about 15% CPU load. Btw, I'm running a Core i7 7900.
Disabling or enabling OpenGL graphics doesn't change anything.
Would be awesome if R2R fixed this problem in future!

mastering plug ins generally kill the cpu, they aren't meant to be used in a huge project with 10+ plugs on every channel.

Try using it once you've bounced your project down to the final mix, and only have the mastering chain left to do.
Also you generally want to run them oversampled, which kills the cpu even more

Yeah guys, you're right. R2R confirmed it's due to one by one protection, so not their fault for sure. It's a developer thing.
The cpu problem already came up after loading three Weiss plugins to a single channel, doesn't matter which. I think this can't be fixed, I'll probably use one plugin only or buy a new cpu.

I installed all softube plugin on win 7 x64 bit. All GUI don't work either.
Maybe it's not for win 7?

I never had such issues. Cubase 7.5 (Windows 10) can not find the plugin - although the dlls are at the correct place.

Any Idea?

I have several legit plugins which I replaced with R2R cracked ones, simply because they use less cpu. And I know many other people in the business who do exactly the same ..

That's exactly what I did with Softube Tape today for the same reason.
iLok is trash. I hope plugin developers will stop using it eventually and start offering better deals so more people can buy their stuff.
