Coming from UrsaDSP, Boost increases the loudness of audio material. Use it as a signal enhancer during mastering, or to reveal hidden details while mixing or creating new sounds. Set the Output Ceiling, dial in Attack and Release times, and use the main Boost dial to get anything from a gentle increase in average loudness to an all-out smashed-up signal. UrsaDSP Boost applies transparent signal maximization for a professional sound, and thanks to the unique Focus control, you can maximize a signal upwardly, applying more gain to quieter sounds – NO CLIPPING, ever. A Drive control (plus extra Punch setting for transients) are on-hand to add energy and warmth to the signal.

Very good, i used it on an old Classic Sountrack i created years ago, and,
wow, this DSP takes it to a new Level.

If this is good enough to replace my standard Limiters it's time to spend some bucks.

This plugin will not replace your standard limiters. It's no good for mastering, at least.
The "new level" you mention is lower!

What does "old Classic Sountrack" mean? I'm intrigued!
A DSP is a chip, btw. Not plugin software.
The Clavichord is from the Late Middle Ages. It's not a Clavinet.

'A signal enhancer' - all the way to 'smashed-up signal'?
And a limiter 'with no clipping ever'.
- 'maximizes gain at every step' i.e. drives dynamics completely out of its sense,
- upward compression freezes half way things happening in every sound (release).
- saturation (intentional artefacts) with drive control only,
- no-control transient shaper,
And you get 'transparent sound, with minimal distortion'. Pretty much.

It could be useful for individual tracks maybe if you are aiming for a 'in your face' sound but for mastering

I'd have to agree, is pure-limiter your goto?
I usually use Fabfilter pro-L (Which probably isn't the best either)
but I always use that with the stereo-tool clipper in conjunction.

¤ AFAIC PureLimiter yes.
¤ Then the TDR Limiter 6 GE which " box " contains more than a limiter, so I use only the " clipper " and the " peak limiter " modules.
¤ Toneboosters Barricade 4 is excellent ( in fact their limiter in always on for safety, inside their genius " Morphit ", always running too ).

FabFilter Pro-L 2 is renowned for sure. Surely I don't know how to use it, I got non musical artifacts here and then.

I don't think this plugin was intended to be a final limiter, but rather to be put in an earlier stage of the mastering chain, so the mastering limiter doesn't need to work that hard, it's like a modern version of the inflator, not really my thing since I usually use the inflator in the opposite way by decreasing the curve control.
MY GEAR: Only Hi-End HW sonically engineered for us cats, which you've probably never heard about and will never have access to, cuz we r awesome and u suk.

it's definitely not, as you said in the other comment, the pumping is too much when pushed to a commercial loudness target with or without the punch knob, and if you change the lookahead to a higher value, it becomes too flat and lifeless. The saturation knob is kinda sweet tho I may use that alone lol.

Totally agree, I could not just replace my already mastered songs with this limiter, no matter the tweaks I made, but my next projects will use it as a part of my chains but not for final master limiter.
