When purity is paramount.
A linear phase EQ with unparalleled clarity. For mastering ears, and other discerning engineers.

Many mastering engineers, including MAAT founder Friedemann Tischmeyer, were fans of Algorithmix’s legendary original Linear Phase PEQ Orange. Unfortunately, the Algorithmix EQs were available only as 32 bit VSTs for PC and our workstations and our industry has evolved since then. Tischmeyer’s students repeatedly asked for alternatives, which caused him to scan the market for other high class EQs. Colleague Bob Katz recommended EQuilibrium, an insanely versatile tool, which Tischmeyer used for teaching. However, he could not find a satisfying alternative which would take the place of his original PEQ Orange.

The idea was born to reissue this masterpiece and make it available as 64 bit in all common formats and for macOS. An agreement with Algorithmix was made, and MAAT started up in mid–2017. Algorithmix fans heard of that and reached out to us, saying β€œβ€¦just redo it as it is; no extras, no nothing. We just want to have it back in 64 bit and for Mac.” That was encouraging. As a power user, Tischmeyer had some other ideas in mind regarding the UI. He wanted to make it more flexible and faster to use because there is no other tool in the mastering chain an engineer spends so much setup time with. The result? β€œI think we have achieved that. The UI allows super fast setup and has a number of unique features which help to do so: The positive & negative Contribution function including absolute difference, the adjustable sonogram which makes detecting energy spots you want to clean up easy, and the possibility to play a note on the piano you have in your head and just push the respective frequency to the active band section with one right click are just a few of the new features. What I like too is that I have an overview of all Sections as opposed to just one Section at a time.” In order to not end up with a strange Section order when using many filters, we also added the SORT button so your Sections are always in ascending order.

Now, so, let's see if this EQ is just another EQ... Some lies from MAAT that linear phase EQ didn't produce artifacts. Which is physically impossible to my knowledge...

Thank you R2R.

Read the manual to understand at least why they're saying that. Then of course, let yours ears decide.

MAAT announced the new protection literally 5 days ago. R2R cracked their protection in such a short time and even fixed the developer's bugs while doing so. Is this some kind of wizardry or something?

Mad respect R2R!

For R2R 5 days is a long time, so the bug came as a present to kill it.

Oh didn't knew the nomenclature..

I can see how Difference means Sides.
But usually Mono is a sum of Everything, which doesn't exclude sides?

They should label it differently to avoid Confusion..

I think you're mixing something up here.
The difference between the left and the right speaker is what we usually refer to as 'side-signal'. Mono means the same information on the left and the right side. If you have a stereo file with the same information on the left and the right channel and you mono it, you will get a mono file that is 6.02dB louder.
So actually them calling it difference is accurate and you can never 'exclude the sides'

Mid is the information that is Common in both LR channels.
Side is the information that is Different in both LR channels.

Again, I can see how Difference means Side.

But usually Mono is when you sum both LR channels, with all its information..
That is, without excluding the Differences which would be the Side.

Therefore calling it Mono brings unnecessary confusion.

They should call it Common/Difference,
or just Mid/Side like everyone else.

Mono *is* a sum of everything, but it *does* exclude Side components. Because they are in a counterphase and thus cancel out when summing.
So Mono equals Sum equals Mid. There's nothing factually wrong with this naming convention, aside of it being pretentious and somewhat inconsistent. I mean, why not use Sum if you already use Diff?

So...
If I understand everything, Reason 11 and Avenger 1.5 are JUST a 'few' purchased & provided EXPANSIONS away...?

Because the reason rack extensions are tied to the reason account,
HOW could someone buy 1 or 5 rack extensions, and send them to R2R, or any person in contact with them ?

Wouldn't it be much easier, if someone could set up and provide a paypal/bitcoin/other ACCOUNT, to where the audioz members could easily send 10 bucks here, 15 bucks there...30...50... until there was enough cash for R2R or one of their 'friends' to buy everything they need...?

OR...
It would be much easier, if a R2R friend put a uploaded/rapidgator referral code in one of these pages, saying
'Ok, audioz guys, if you want avenger/reason/others, please renew your rapidgator/uploaded accounts, by using our code... that way, the cash we will make, will be used to buy those extensions, and a few other expensive goodies'

This would be the BEST, anonymous/quickest way, for members to donate: a simple 3 or 6 months renewal, and at least 5 to 10 bucks would go to their account !

No more need to use paypal or Visa or whatever method, to send cash to some unknown guy. A simple host renewal, and it would be done...

Otherwise, I don't see how we could do it...

Anyway, thanks, R2R

Better, why not instead of paying a group of Crackers do you pay the developer? do not think that would be a way to help the development of these applications?

this is one of the most ridiculous soft developer in market, also for people who want cubase, waves, or uads, and apple(not only the product, but also they would spend $1000 for a charge cable),
believe: the more the price, the better the quality
ok, it's only happened in some hardware area in audio. (not joke, that's true)

They're completely different in terms of Functionality/Features.

But in short: No.

Fabfilter kicks this out of the water..
and EQuilibrium head shots it like a duck from Nintendo

So am I right in concluding this is just a parametric EQ with a FFT spectrum on top of it? Is it really worth this much?

ok folks, here is my easy and simple review in case you wonder you need this or not: SUPER ULTRA TRANSPARENT... but ultra CPU hungry, introduces a lot of latency. Better options out there? I think yes. meanwhile i'm 100% FF Pro Q3.

You need really to treat super sensitive content with total transparency? go for it

no? stick to Pro Q 3

That NFO once again proved that excessive protection only complicates things and hurts legit customers. For the Christ sake they already have Reason in their inventory and just waiting for supplies for extensions.
One of my favorite plug-in developers, ToneBoosters, uses the lightest amount of protection and the license is 1/4th of their competitors yet quality of their products is on par with FabFilter, iZotope or Softube.

To developers:
Innovate, communicate, maintain stability and let us users be the marketers and supporters of your products.

Airwindows products are free and mostly lack a proper GUI but his userbase swears by the quality and they always support him through Patreon even though he’s not making plug-ins as a job. On the other Waves are stuck in 2005 and they rely on celebrity endorsement, fake sales and β€œanalog sound” claims.
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

While Multicorr and Phaseshifter work, Santacruz, theEQblue and theEQorange make Ableton 9 crash for me. Anyone else facing that problem? I only have onboard gfx, could that be an issue?

They work for me in Cubase, BUT EQorange+Cubase crashes when loading a second instance of the plugin.

It is supposed to be a mastering EQ but what a hell. The latency it introduces is a joke.
It sounds OK though.

I would be so angry if I ever bought it for that ridiculous price..
