Native Instruments Kontakt 6 v6.2.2 STANDALONE, VSTi, AAX x86 x64 (UPDATE) screenshot
P2P | 17 February 2020 | 144 MB
With KONTAKT 6, you can sound like a snare drum, a symphony orchestra, or anything in between, from a universe of sampled instruments. It’s a simple sampler when you want it to be, and a deep sonic scripting laboratory when you need something more. The next generation of the world’s favorite sampling platform gives you new instruments and new features under the hood – so you can layer, link, stretch, and shape your sounds any way you can imagine.

What's new?
Over two decades, KONTAKT has become a highly-developed engine for creating and playing sampled instruments. KONTAKT 6 offers more for players and builders alike:

Introducing KONTAKT Play Series: Three new instruments for the KONTAKT library, offering pristine, contemporary sound in a creative and streamlined interface

Wavetable synthesis module: Build hybrid instruments for entirely new sounds

Enhanced effects: Even more effects for your creations, for greater expression and realism

Kontakt 6.2.2 - 2020-02-17

•FIXED Using Super Audio Cart by Impact Soundworks would cause hangs and crashes in certain cases
•FIXED The effect of having "Unwind Automation" On was reverted after saving and recalling a multi or host project, when the assignments were made through KSP
•FIXED There were still hangs and crashes when batch re-saving certain instruments
•FIXED Kontakt would crash when trying to load NKM files directly from the operating system (Finder / Explorer)
•FIXED Kontakt would crash when trying to load certain NKI files directly from the operating system (Finder / Explorer); only reproducible with NKIs from Kontakt Player libraries that were not activated on the affected device
•FIXED Overwriting an NKI through the "Save as..." menu did not work correctly on macOS 10.15 Catalina
•FIXED Kontakt could crash when adjusting LFO Retrigger across multiple groups
•FIXED Button hover states would not appear as expected in v6.2.0 and 6.2.1 when controls where overlapping
•FIXED After using the Creator Tools Instrument Editor on Windows, file paths would sometimes be corrupt when saving and recalling an NKI using Kontakt
•FIXED KSP Arrays loaded from NKA files were erroneously populated from fallback data on snapshot recall

Creator Tools 1.2.0 - 2019-11-14

•ADDED File Browser: Direct access to the file system, complementing the new Project Manager
•IMPROVED New layout, allowing for more than one tool to be visible at once
•IMPROVED All factory content (scripts, instruments, performance views, etc) are now easy to copy to a user location for direct editing; just use the new Help menu entry.
•FIXED Instrument Editor: Pulling data from big NKIs (>90k zones) would be unreliable
•ADDED GUI Designer: A new widget type is added: MouseArea
•ADDED Instrument Editor: MIR type tagging can now be performed with Lua
•ADDED Instrument Editor: Zone and group pan settings can now be set and retrieved with Lua
•ADDED Tutorials: Populate Zones From Filesystem (Instrument Editor Lua Scripting)
•ADDED Instrument Editor: New user zones field displays true when a zone is a user zone or false otherwise
•ADDED Tutorials: MIR Type Tagging (Instrument Editor Lua Scripting)
•IMPROVED UniqueID property has been removed, zone ID's are now handled automatically
•FIXED Adding a UI element and then clicking undo would collapse the element tree

Manually updated the r4e 6.1.1 repack with this and all appears to be working fine. Thanks!

You only need to replace files manually for the symlink versions.
But r4e/P2P 6.1.1 is a regularly installing version.
For updating the r4e 6.1.1 version (same as the normal 6.1.1 P2P version which is the same, just that r4e is simplified installer) you could have just used the automatic installer in this update here.

just saying that to make life easier for others coming here.

In any case I´d advice everyone to just switch to the regular install (instead of symlink) version because updating is much easier now and in the future.
Symlink versions have just been necessary until the 6.1.1 version came out which for the first time allowed a normal installation since R2R´s 5.6.5 version in 2016. But no need to bother with symlink versions anymore.

So for an easy life just
1. remove your symlink version
2. install the release "Native Instruments Kontakt 6 v6.1.1 STANDALONE, VSTi, AAX x86 x64"
3. update to 6.2.2 with this release here by simply using the automatic installer included.
4. keep super easily updated in the future the same way

Question, I have the r4e 6.2 version. Which installer do I have to use : the Kontakt patch installer 6.2.2 or the Kontakt installer found in the app folder (x64)? Would appreciate your response.

You have to use the "Kontakt_patch_installer_6_2_2".

The file "kontakt.exe" in the app folder is NOT an installer. It´s part of the content that will be installed then, same as all the other files in the different folders of this update release.
It would probably easier to not misunderstand if that content would just be packed within the installer file. But the releaser was doing it that way to enable people to replace their old files manually with those, in case you are having the symlink version on your system.

Hey ProgDoomer...where did you get Kontakt 6.2 by r4e? I'm still using v. 6.1.1 made by r4e...

not true you have to manually replace the vst plugin. Not enough using the .exe patch file even if you got the Native Instruments Kontakt 6 v6.1.1 STANDALONE, VSTi, AAX x86 x64 installed. At least that is what I had to do (I have custom vst folder).
So to be clear:
- First I ran the Kontakt_patch_installer_6_2_2.exe
- Then I manually copied and replaced the Kontakt.dll in plugin folder

Yes ok, but this is only if you have installed the vst files in a different place than the standard location.

Which I was doing too one time many years in the past, but it was so annoying to each time think of that when installing a plugin so on the next system setup I gave up on that ;-) There usually also shouldn’t be a necessity for that, so I guess most users don’t have custom vst folders and can really just use the patch.

For new users or symlink users I would really recommend to use (respectively replace their symlink version with) the normal install starting with 6.1.1, and just using the default vst folders as it’s making things just easiest.

But it’s good that you say that for users who just for some reason don’t have the default location for vst. Because I was just assuming that the patch installer would recognize the location if it’s not the default, same as many updaters do (even for Kontakt libraries).

Is it still required to run an older kontakt version to load the libraries?

No, you can add libraries with this version just fine.

Works great on WIN7 / 64 Bit !

Finaly it´s really fun working with Kontakt Libarys, after all those years of endless registration and compatibty problems.

quote by PromethiumYes ok, but this is only if you have installed the vst files in a different place than the standard location. ).

So let me get that right

- you say you don´t have to replace the dll manualy
- and just run the Kontakt_patch_installer_6_2_2.exe
- when you don´t have symlink install and have your dll in the standard folder

????????????

Can anyone confirm this ?

But on the other Hand - if this is true, then it would be enough to replace the dll manualy, without running the Kontakt_patch_installer_6_2_2.exe ? !

Iám kind of confused. This thing is working so good, I would hate to mess it up, by doing a false update .

Yes, you got this right. The "Kontakt_patch_installer_6_2_2.exe" is doing nothing else than placing the files that are in those folders that you see along with it ("aax", "app", "Common Files", "vst") into their dedicated locations, overwriting the old files there.

It´s not "cracking" those files after you placed them manually. They are already cracked and it just places them for you.

That´s why I said it would be less confusing if those folders/files would be packed into the installer itself.
But they are not, to leave the option to place the files manually. For people having the Symlink version or probably also for people not using the default positions.
Even though I´d expect an update installer to recognize if custom locations have been used for the installation, because that information is stored in the registry of your system, and most software updaters just get that information and then install their update content where it belongs.
But according to Daskeladden this update installer doesn´t seem to do this.

Thanks man for clearing that one more time. It´s really confusing, when you have so many "Install packages" :)

I installed 6.1 ( fresh install )

Then used the Kontakt_patch_installer_6_2_2.exe ( only - no manual dll replacement )

Working fine on Win7 64 !

UPDATE: Tried on other PC a new Installation an to replace the dll manualy, without running "Kontakt_patch_installer_6_2_2.exe" - did not work. When I tried to add libary it said " modul not found", also I replaced all the files. Then I used the Kontakt_patch_installer_6_2_2.exe and it all went good.

perfect! Glad it worked for you

Will work the same for everyone if you start from scratch with 6.1.1 and don´t mess with the vst location.

Thanks, Sunny! Previously, I had Kontakt 6.0.4, and I was not able to upgrade to 6.2.2. First, I had to install Kontakt 6.1.1, then use this to update to 6.2.2. Now, it works like a charm!

TL;DR: You can't jump from 6.0.4 - you have to first upgrade to 6.1.1 and then use this update to get to 6.2.2.

Did you have the Symlink or the Portable version of 6.0.4?
With the portable it of course won´t work, but for the Symlink version you should be able to update by manually replacing the files. Did you try that?
Actually I am just asking out of curiosity, because in my opinion you did the best thing anyway: To start from scratch with 6.1.1 (as it´s a real install not just a symlink) and then update from there.
