This release includes 5.5.1 as an installer, and 5.3 as patch to make it "work". But from what I can see it works as expected anyway, so you don't need to use 5.3 which precludes you from using EXS24 mkII.

What's interesting is that you can load Logic Pro 9 (Mac) EXS24 Legacy content in 5.5.1 EXS24 without any problem. I don't know if it's the same Factory Library that came with the CD that Emagic sent you after you confirm your purchase (EXS24 was a separate plugin at the time), as I couldn't find any trace of it online, the Logic 5 install disk doesn't have anything useful inside it, expect some demo projects.

you can find it easily, it's around 2.4GB in size, to open it, use 7zip.

For me 5.5.1 is also working fine on WIn10 Pro x64. Which is a bit surprising, because when trying a few years ago, it did not, only 5.3 used to work. And it seemed to be like that for everyone.

Which was the whole point behind the little "trick" in the release here, to be installing 5.5.1 and then replacing the exe by the one from 5.3 version.

I recently reinstalled Logic so I tried that "trick" and it worked fine. After I had run the 5.3 for a few minutes I felt bold and tried the 5.5.1 too, and suddenly it works. I thought maybe it had to do with having run the 5.3 in the same folder before (maybe it creates some settings etc), but can you guys confirm the 5.5.1 was running right away for you?

That would be very interesting, it would mean that the "trick" is not necessary at all (anymore) and we can actually use the "latest" version finally.

No idea why a few years ago it didn´t work for anyone and now it does, but I won´t complain.

in 2003, I used v5.5.1 Oxygen intensively to prepare compositions and test different orchestrations (WinXP 32), i found that it had strange behavior: it quits sometimes abruptly and unexpectedly, which was not the case of the genuine version that was used in studio to record the definitive demo album.

For those who have tried both versions (5.3 and 5.5.1), do you think that this v5.3 is more stable than the Oxygen one?

Runs perfect on win7 home (old Notebook).
Win 10 pro:
A issue occured: Emagix Xskey.dll not found.
Xskey.dll is in the Logic5 folder.
