Linplug SPECTRAL v1.3.1 VSTi x86 x64 PATCHED-CHAOS screenshot
CHAOS | Oct 08 2015 | 21.6 MB
Our new top of the line synthesizer, the result of 14 years of synthesizer building experience. If you are familiar with subtractive synthesis, you will feel right at home with the Spectral, because you can choose an oscillator waveform, choose a filter shape and go on from there. But Spectral delivers far more options than you would expect from the well sorted user interface. Both Oscillator Waveform and Filter Shape can be edited in depth. The unique audio engine is capable of delivering many sounds never heard before.

Thank you LOADS Horsemen (and CHAOS obviously)!!!

I may be in a minority there, but I LOVE this synth! I've read many calling it "plastic sounding" and whatnot, but that's obviously craptalk nonsense... The sound is damn fine, and it is indeed a sound designer's dream with it's features some of which (handdrawing your own filter!!) you won't find in ANY OTHER synth on the planet!
Always good to see it uploaded here then! (Don't forget to buy it if you've got the monetary means and use for it)

PS. What's the update log BTW? (Revamped Linplug website doesn't work anymore for me on Chrome, so I couldn't check it for myself)

I couldn't off the top of my scattered memory remember other synths with drawable filters, but knew somewhere deep down inside that there were others, so did a quick search and found a bunch, but this quote from a person on another site made a good pitch for Harmor. It is thus:

cron wrote:
Harmor is more powerful than you can possibly imagine in this area. Not only can you draw the filter shape, you can even draw the shape of the resonance, move the resonance and cutoff frequency independently of one another and add 'self oscillation' elsewhere. You want a combined low/band/notch filter with three resonant bumps 7 semitones above the cutoff frequency and self oscillation whine 12 semitones below the cutoff frequency? No problem. That's just the start. Nearly every parameter in Harmor can have its behaviour altered in this way. Once you start getting under the hood, the power lurking in those drop down menus is just insane. My latest trick is using a custom drawn shape with the Prism module to do octave whammy jumps on individual harmonics in resynthesised audio.
Yeah, basically Harmor is amazing.

Additive synthesis for the win!

Damn, didn't know that! I remember trying Harmor rather quickly a year ago or more, but that was nothing more than browsing through presets as I didn't have much time back then for anything more (not that I have anywhere near enough NOW, mind you! ^^) and I just didn't like much of what I heard (but then, I don't think ANY plugin from Image-Line ever did any kind of impression on me anyway). I'm mainly focused at composing atmospheric and vintage 70s prog/electronic stuff (Schulze, Vangelis, Eno, Jarre, Tangerine D., you know the classics...) and in that department, what I heard wasn't any close to good enough for me, like no beautiful evolving pads, no bouncy arps, etc.
Even so, that was never a proper judgement on my part of the synth engine in itself, just presuming the presets were supposedly doing a good job at representing what the synth could actually produce, so after being just disappointed with all the sounds, I left Harmor at that...
But your quote sure enough has regained interest in it! And I definitely didn't know all that incredible stuff about Harmor's filters! If things are indeed how Cron describe them in that area, then it is damn impressive and would put Spectral to shame! I'm gonna have to investigate the matter further soon...
I only mentioned the feature was unique to Spectral because I had up to now never heard of another softsynth (or hardware for that matter) able to do this + Peter himself boasts about it being a "never-before-seen" feat, still exclusive to Spectral. One thing I'm especially eager to check now that I've read your quoting Cron about Harmor, is whether its filters are independent and freely assignable -- one of the main limits of Spectral's architecture is that each of the four filters is locked and totally dependent of its own oscillator. If Harmor doesn't have that limitation then I would truly be amazed!
Still, one good point still in favour of Spectral is its ease of use and clear interface -- something certainly lacking in Harmor's GUI which is cluttered, confuse and definitely tough to entirely figure out without some learning curve -- due in parts to its complexity and also because of many rather uncommon features in the softsynth world, like I remember an harmonizer section or sth for instance...

Pray tell man!!! What bunch? I'd be real grateful if you can give us a list, cause I have indeed never seen drawable filters anywhere else myself and I'd love to be put out of my ignorance!! (^_^) Seriously, always eagrer to discover new interesting synths with innovative or rare features...

Hi,

Does it have all soundbanks unlocked ?
  Resident 16.09.2013 182

No, this patch is dodgy and does not even allow to register those bloody banks. I still should like to use this occasion and thank Horsemen for the installer. I used the R2R patcher and R2R codes for the plugin and the banks to register everything...

That is really cool. I don't really go for new synths these days, but maybe someday I'll get bored and try this one out.

Thanks CHAOS, and thanks Flori ;)
yes i made that, but linplug moved at v1.3.1 exact my new used offset to patch \ unlock, to far away from a range that my unipatch is able tp process, so i have to patch this version also again, which means: i have to update the unipatcher one time , i bring him up fast as possible :)
