Glad you got it working man. Still haven't got to try. I believe you need a jailbroken iphone. I tried installing ipa on un-jailbroken iphone and it doesn't work. Can get it to the phone but the icon just hangs at installing...

No biggie, still thanks for the cool share. It was very educational to know this is out there!!! And I think I'm going to buy it anyway cuz I luv jamming amplitube on the iphone. But the built in recordings kinda lose its umph when recording into the app itself. Would love to try it recording into pc and compare. So I am buying it cuz it's only $9.99.
I can afford that!!!

Yes, you need to be jailbroken.

Just tested, works well, although it's a little glitchy for me, but that's likely because my iPad is an old A5 one, not that powerful...

it says ipad on the ipa file....is this file also supposed to work for iphone? For me, same as other above, just hangs on "installing", iphone 4, ios 7, jailbroken

you can't install with itunes. easiest way probably would be with appcake (useful anyway), it's on cydia (http://cydia.iphonecake.com), download and install it. and then you need something to copy the file onto your ipad (sth. to access the ipad directory) or you can do it over a wifiserver via appcake too, I think. just copy the file to: /var/mobile/ Media/AppCake/Imported/ and then open appcake and install it (it's going to be under downloads -> imported then). and yes, it should work on iphone aswell as on ios 7. but I can't check that for sure, since I'm not on 7 anymore.
... but this "hangs up itself on install" somehow sounds more like not jailbroken too me? do you have cydia on your phone?

Thanks for the quick response! Yep, jailbroken and I do have appcake ( although the last few versions have been buggy for me). I'll try copying the file to appcake( the step I was missing ;) ) it through ifile. thanks again!

Yeah, it installed perfectly! I am having a few problems, but it relates to how I can add an "instrument track" or "effects" in musicio on iphone. I have Animmog and amplitube. The screen where I should be able to choose stays blank....no animoog, no amplitube...so, just slowly figuring it out...and in the AU, it always says not connected, buthe app has green connected circle on mac and iphone. I could get some midi out of logic to play animmog, but the sound plays on the iphone speaker.....Anyway, I'll keep at it

music io only works with IAA, but all the newer apps usually have that. for me, animoog (v2.2.4) shows up under instruments, amplitube I don't have (would show up under effects then). maybe updating the apps can help there.
and this not connected AU thing, I don't know man... maybe it's a logic thing (which I don't have). but I've tried it with garageband now and it worked there, although garageband did ask me to lower some kind of security settings at first to use this AU (?), which I then agreed. but I think I had to even reopen garageband to get the 'connected'.
I've simply created a microphone and line-input track and then added musicio as a plugin. and don't forget to enable "monitor". but yeah, this 'connected' status in the AU of course is crucial, because otherwise you won't receive any audio.

yeah, setting this stuff up can be tricky, but once you've figured it out it actually is pretty great. I hope I was of help :)
