DeFilter is in fact simple minimum phase only FIR matching EQ. This sort of EQ, and with much better configuration (linear phase, IIR (!), more manual tweaks) are already offered by Izotope and Voxengo, for example.

"Emphasis curve" can be achieved with older matching EQs by pre-filtering the signal and/or adding white/pink/other noise during profile capture.

Built-in auto-eq will make any music sound ear-splitting, unless you're captured the correct profile beforehand manually. No instant magic here.

It should have at least linear phase in order to compete with older similar EQs.

IMO the most original plugin by Acon is freeware Multiply. Verberate is also ok, but only tails are algorithmic.

I already have Multiply and I think it is a wonderful chorus. Probably the best out there.
This is the second time I see their reverb praised so I will finally check it even if I am already covered on that side.

From Acon developer on another forum (sorry for the long tech quote, you can just skip it):

Technology wise Verberate is an extension of FDN (Feedback Delay Network) designs. The Ircam reverbs share the same basic topology as far as I know, but Verberate uses methods that to my knowledge are novel and allows infinitely dense (limited only by the sampling rate) and uncorrelated reverberation tails. Still, there should at least theoretically be some similarities between the two. The early reflections in Verberate are implemented using convolution with a synthetically produced impulse response that is updated on-the-fly as parameters are changed.


It's does not have such character as Valhalla and Lex, but quite ok "hybrid realistic" type reverb. Static a bit and early reflections are convolution, but gets the job done. It's possible to use ER only or Tails only. Not to say even some famous reverbs like UAD plate emulation are hybrid convolution/algo.

Legal users, not warezers should pay the most attention at Acon offerings, they use the best protection ever - SERIAL ONLY and the prices are fine.
