i installed to test it and i decided to analyse the R2R keygen using REVO uninstaller pro, to see what happens, what files are created, etc, and revo told me something that really worries me:
the keygen process has tried to delete my ntuser.dat file, of my administrator account(i ran the keygen using a different account, not the administrator one)

can someone tell me what's going on ? i remember reading some mods use Revo uninstaller... could you test it and see if you get the same results as i did?

i add a screen capture of the files modification log, from REVO. it was running on a different computer with a french OS, but creer or create, and suprimer or delete, it's almost the same.
is there a reason to be worried ? someone could one day create a pseudo r2r release, and put some virus or some code on it, and make some serious damage... because we take these releases, and run them, next,next,next, in 10ms...

Revo uninstaller doesn't care if the file is called keygen.exe or hitler.pif or pooopoo.pee, it simply logs whatever files are created, renamed, deleted, from the moment we start an .exe file, until the moment he hit a button and it stops the capture.
the filenames on that screenshot are those i get when i capture the keygen activity.
ask Catalyst, i remember reading him saying he uses REVO uninstaller. he will be able to do the same test as i, and notice the exact same thing.

and this is not me trying to spread fud, or scare people, about warez, etc. no, at all.
i just find it strange, that's all. that's why i spent 30 minutes, and i decided to post a screenshot, so a few guys that have an installer/uninstaller app, like REVO uninstaller pro, that can monitor an installation, and log all the changes on the registry or files, during the installation process, until we click on "stop capture", and save the log/export it, for further analysis, can do the same test on their computers, with the same file downloaded here, and check if they have the same results.

Revo uninstaller isn't an anti-virus. it has no database with filenames or whatever. when it monitors an installation, it simply logs all the new files that are created during the installation, renamed, etc.

i do it, specially on big apps, because my ssd drive is almost full, and i don't want to have hundreds of megabytes here and there, with temp files that weren't deleted after an installation, or an uninstall, etc. and it's cool, to be able to know which files we must delete, when something goes wrong, and after a complete uninstall, we can't reinstall properly, because there are still some files, somewhere. with REVO, we can know where they are copied, etc.

i hope someone will be able to do the same test with REVO uninstaller and will get the same results.

Right, PATCHES, KETGENS, LOADERS are packed with different PE COMPRESSORS, most anti-virus software will flag them as virus or back door Trojans but its all FALSE, if you dont trust it then buy or download a application called SANDIE BOX and run the keygen in it.

Are you running the latest version of Revo which is 3.1.1? I doubt it's trying to delete that file since it's integral, if that were the case I think we would have some seriously angry members at this moment. Perhaps it's trying to delete a preference from the registry which is what the ntuser.dat file is: preferences for a user account. Maybe it's not logged properly or something is happening that we're not seeing. I don't have the time to test this right now, there's a lot going on from the behind the scenes post for the album, advertising, the physical release and a lot of other stuff I'm not at liberty to discuss. I'm already quite behind on it. I am however reinstalling my audio software on my computer at the moment and when I have some free time I will run some tests. In the meantime if anyone here has installed this and had no issues please let us know. Your feedback is important.

i'm on 3.0.5.
and i trust R2R more than i trust the 99% of people i know in real life.
it's just that because i don't have an anti-virus installed, and only rely on windows defender, i like to install apps via REVO, to have an idea about what the installer does to the system, which files are copied, deleted, etc.

for example, lately, i discovered when i do a copy&paste from a VM to my main session, vmware stores all the files in a temp folder, and doesn't delete them after the copy is finished. i had dozens of gigas like that.

and yesterday, because some keygens require admin rights, i decided to check the install with REVO. and was really surprised with that line with ntuser.dat--- delete. at least, there was a command from the app to delete the file, but because it is a critical system file, it couldn't be deleted, i guess. otherwise, i don't see a reason why REVO would add that line, randomly.
we know you have 1000 things to do, and need days with 48 hours :)
i just thought about talking about it. in no way my intention was to talk shit about r2r, or anybody else.
i think i did what was necessary: reporting it here, calmly, just to inform you all. surely it's nothing bad or wrong. but when someone can test it, and have other results than i, i will be happy to know that it was my pc that went full dumb mode, during the installation :)

What are you talking about? Revo has never fucked up my system and I've been using it for many many years. Revo is just a tool, it can't compensate for the inadequacy of a user. You have to make decisions sometimes just like your antivirus makes you do when it flags something and you have to decide if it's a false positive or not. Revo trace installs are indispensable for easy removal of programs later.

I second this.. as for the Av you should go for Kaspersky Internet Security as it has the least amount of false positives of them all.. if you cant afford it then use a Trial Reset for it (The trial is fully functional) if you need it then you can find it on the web or send me a pm
