Thanks R2R for this Maschine update. The awesome Arcane Attic expansion is right up my alley and very much appreciated as well.

Wow how come the update is so big?

Maschine updates are basically the full installer, little less.
Big part of the pack are the plug-ins and standalone (each more than 100MB),
add to that some library update, the dlyb, and other stuff.
I didn't tried but it's likely that if you remove the check for previous install
on the installer that prevent you to install without a previous version
all will work as expected.
(obviously I'm talking about Mac, but for the size the same applies to win)

Thanks R2R !

You're on Mac right? In your home folder there should be
a file called scanapp.log, look at it it should have an entry saying "log created".
Otherwise you may have wrong permissions somewhere
making Machine unable to save plugs validation infos.

Thanks R2R & Sunny. But where in the heck is this "NI_InstReg tool" that is referenced in the R2R info? Am I missing a beat here?

Thanks.

They usually explain in the text file exactly what it does which is trick the software into thinking it's been installed by creating the necessary registry entries. It's been in every NI release they've put out.

Nothing works. It says Full version but asks for authorization when loading sounds.

It says "Please activate ..... via Service Center"

Just for your info: i want to try this app for the first time and installed R2R's 2.0.0/ 2.0.6 first and then this update (on OSX 10.9.2). But the Standalone wanted an authorization. I checked the installation and noticed that the 2.1.2 installer didn't update the SA to 2.1.2 (even not by using Pacifist). It was still 2.0.6. I did it manually and now it works.

I am on a Mac. Both AU and Standalone are updated to 2.1.2 without any troubles. But none of them load any sounds.

Any ideas?

I'm starting to think Maschine is more trouble than its worth. Mine works and loads but I find it one of the most clunky disjointed interfaces out there today, but maybe that's just me.

I understand what you mean. My mood went down quickly while trying it. Maschine is not my cup of tea. Uninstalled.

Hmmnnn... A few people here say that they've got it to work on Mac. Great. However, I suspect that PC users are the ones having so-called "activation" problems. That is, when you open the program and attempt to launch the any of the various sounds, you get this: "Please activate_______"unce" (sic) via Service Center". This is after the file, "NI_Actv_Maschine2.exe" has been applied. And, I reiterate, where is this "NI InstReg tool" referenced in the R2R .txt file? This is appearing to be more trouble than it's worth, my friends.

All OK on Win - fresh installation. The first file (NI_InstReg tool) is for tricking NI Maschine that there is a full version already installed, when you do the fresh install - so this update will install asking for no previous installation... It isn't a file patcher or a crack ! The second one is for registering the Maschine library...

What I don't get is that they (R2R) say there isn't a valid Maschine 2 library supplied to them, yet I have THEIR Machine 2 v1.0 library release... I don't get it ?!

Ask your paranoic antivirus program for that file, it's all there...

Perhaps they meant an updated library or they reused an old text file and forgot to remove that part. Certainly weird since I'm sure it could be arranged...

My bad, I misunderstood the nfo. They say that Maschine 1 expansions need to be updated in order to work with the version 2 (for those having them), but they say nothing about Maschine 2 Factory Lib. R2R released it properly at the time they were releasing machine 2.0.0

Just a quickie,
Do I need to have a Maschine for this, or does the programme have built in sounds that are useable?
Thanks,

Minne you must not be used to all this new technology, alot's changed since the old days. You don't need a hardware Maschine and yes you can just use it with it's inbuilt sounds as well as the plethora of expansions that we have available on site. Make sure to download the factory library though.

Thank You Catalyst, that's great news. I must invite you and a couple of the other nice people to come over some day and have tea and cucumber canapés. Maybe we could put on a concert for the 98 old age pensioners , or as the nice guards call them the surviving inmates. Ethel Funge and her husband Farquar Funge are just new here, and a friendly punk rock / Death Metal concert would be a nice way of welcoming them here. Here's my full name and address, which you will have to ask for me, if you want to visit my room and all the lovely old folk here:
Millicent Abigail Beatrice Clara Dorinda Ethel Fannie Gertrude Hortense. Imogene Josephine Katrina Lavinia Myrtle Nina Opal Pearl Queenie Ruth Selma Tallulah Ursula Veronica Wilhelmina Xylophia Yolanda Zarina Poggs-Crun-Bannister

cell 3409, Criminally insane Old Age Pensioners wing,
The Greta Garbo Maximum Security Jail,
Barlinnie High Security Prison,
Barlinnie Island, Lanarkshire G33 2QX
United Kingdom

I would really love for all of us to put on a nice Punk Rock / Death Metal / Thrash Metal concert, and we can turn the volume control on the speakers right up to 11
Looking forward to a visit, be prepared for a full cavity search and being stripped naked by the nice people who look after us.

Love always to the uploaders and helpful folk here,
Your incontinent toothless 100 year old Granny

The sounds are excellent!

You get some incredible samples (Wav format) which are worth it alone!

Then there's the instrument content - you can use Maschine as a VST plugin and you've got access to some great patterns, instruments, etc...

Then there's the drum synth!

If you have the hardware - the product is a lot better!

But - if you are a warez head with no hardware - you still get some awesome patterns, grooves and sounds!

You can load up a different kit per MIDI channel - per instance!

So -> You could use it a bit like Reason in ReWire mode....

BTW - I don't like Reason that much....too much hard work to use as a real host...

But I love the ReFills...(Bitely (Fairlight sounds), BitWord, Pink Noise)

Get a pen and paper - and then you can use Reason as an incredible VST sound module / instrument rack!

Just put a different Combinator / Sampler / Synth on each ReWire MIDI channel and make a note of which Reason project goes with which Cubase project you are working on!

I have a few projects which use Reason 5, FL Studio 11, Cubase 5 and more!

Nexus, Kontakt, Omnisphere, Alchemy - all great....

But having Reason as an extra instrument rack is a very powerful add-on!

:-)

  Member 15.07.2014 4

Nope! The hardware is not needed to be able to use the software. But with the hardware you get a better workflow!

I use Maschine 2 since the release at AUDIOZ (thanks a lot for that!). But it dont work in Standalone mode (first thing - dont know why). It just works in Ableton as VST, but if i want to load a Kit or a Project Maschine dont recognize Massive (second thing - dont know why). Massive works in Standalone and as a VST in Ableton. If I load Massive seperately as a VST in Maschine - there is no Problem, but the Kits dont recognize it. Same Problem with this Maschine Update. you guys have any ideas what to do? Would be cool to get an advice!
