I didn't think anyone could achieve what PSP has achieved with PSP X-dither: They've created a selection of noise-shapes which allow me to create a 16-bit result that sounds almost identical to the 24-bit source. With other dithering algorithms I often have to compromise, making a sound which distorts the tonality of the original source, or weakens the depth, or softens the transients. But with PSP X-dither I can easily find the perfect shape for the music I'm working with.

i know my stuff with respect to dithering thanks, and whilst I respect Katz, have you never heard of endorsement marketing? Just because i don't believe there was any need for such a plugin doesn't mean im a 'hater'. Fact is there is no need for it.

All DAW's have a dither option when rendering.

Secondly, if you are making EDM or Pop music tracks (or any other modern music and/or loud music with busy arrangement)...and slamming your mixes against 0, I guarantee you that any "dithering" you hear is all psychoacoustics. And I would even question how much dithering (if any at all) anybody can discern in very dynamic music with soft passages.
