Freeware? Date? Info-Link?

yep this guy keep uploading freeware over and over? what was as in 2011 someone uploaded freeware? people complained on mass.

we should make a freeware category - where only free, fast links are posted or the dev-page.

and I think it would be nice if we have freeware section, and share some freeware stuff that no longer eksist on the net
or share some our homemade stuff

At least it should be clear if it was freeware, and if its rather old.

honestly, i've chalked all these 'freeware' posts up to being a money-grab of some sort.

1) poster (depending on what name he chooses to use on that day) only uses ul.net for download (just recently, poster started using rapidgator, which also sucks), but other than that, no mirrors to other DL sites. why not?
2) never puts a link up to the dev site where you can learn more about the software (which would negate uploading it b/c most of the time, you can get the freebie from the dev site.)

i think we should have a freeware section also, but i think it should be for stuff that's no longer available anywhere (therefore giving a reason to use a host site for freeware), or if still available, redirect to the dev site via anonym.to links.


...and if this IS some sort of money-grab scheme, then i would take that as the poster taking advantage of this community & he should be banned, along with the other multiple accounts he's created that posts nothing but freeware.

think abt it...why post something like the TDR Feedback Compressor II in here & NOT link it back to Tokyo Dawn Labs some kind of way?? they're still VERY active, and this is a recent software release. it's a waste of space to have it in here, imo. yes the plugin is great, but you could have posted this in audiosex/audioz with a link to the dev's site if you wanted to share FREE-ware FREE-ly. instead, it just looks shady to me.

I agree with you guys. I think that freeware should be clearly labelled and we should have a section for it. That way members are aware and at least they can do a search to find the developer site so they can download directly from there. Personally if I download freeware I always do it from the dev site for numerous reasons including the fact that the devs were nice enough to give it away so the least I can do is give them advertising revenue and download statistics. However I honestly can't imagine that the person is making that much money from this. I mean less than 800 people looked at it and how many of them actually downloadeded? He's not breaking any rules at the moment but that's not to say that the system we have for this sort of thing can't be tightened. I will look into it and maybe for the relaunch we will have this new section and a better foundation in place.
