@Sunny:

Who said this is a "FULL" pack?

Got both win and mac and i wish i didnt buy that mac shit overhyped shit is what it is..
The more i use it the more i find out that it is not better then my old win machine so im screwed luckily it wasnt so expensive but i should have bought hardware for a new PC build instead..

Toothpick and all you others,

I understand the psychological mechanisms behind this "hope, that someday there will be a mac version". You keep up your hope by saying these words, and by writing these lines in our little hideout here, called AudioZ, you can do something actively, instead of just waiting for the crack to pass by someday.

But please consider this:
There are a lot more fine, working cracks for WIN. Some programs perform better on WIN than on MAC, e.g. Addictive stuff. (no spikes on WIN)
And you got lots of really cool freeware, I don't wanna live without anymore, e.g. the SQ8L.
So this is just a humble advice:
buy a PC and try it out! Don't connect to the internet, nor run these fancy lifestyle software on it. Just use it for your music, and you will have an outstandingly performing, stable, immensely potent DAW with all the software goodies like Nexus2, SSL Duende, 112dB, to name but a few.
I even got the new Arturia SEM and Wurlitzer and Analog Lab running in Studio One with the eLicenser Kawa-crack by R2R. I bet you even didn't know it was running! Yes I got syncroshit running and I'm makin music with it, and its wonderful! By the way, try the Duende high shelf and you'll probably toss Waves shit down the toilet!

I own both MAC and PC, and its both stable and perfectly working. But the PC-cracks are offering me so much more. You MAC-Fanboys are really letting go the good stuff.
This wasn't meant offensive, really! I once was one of you.

PEACE!! mates

Sakurahime,
On a more serious note... I do respect your comment though. This Is something that I have thought of before. The only problem being that I've been using logic now for the past 5 years. I'm not saying It's the best DAW out there, it's just the one I have the most experience with. Ok, so let's consider this. Say I buy a windows computer and run some of these cracked plugin's that aren't available to the mac world (I fully agree that there are way more of them available on windows), what DAW would you suggest for best compatibility and overall performance? Protools, Live,Fruityloops? I like your idea of just using it for music. I value your opinion on this and anybody else that might care to chip in. No offense taken.

On top of what Sakurahime said about some programs performing better on Windows, the overwhelming majority of DAWs perform significantly better on that platform. Personally I like Cubase and if you splurge and don't mind the dongle I would suggest Cubase 7.5 (though I hate the idea of supporting dongles). It all depends on what you want out of your DAW and which interface and features are going to work like you work. Studio One might be something to consider as well since many seem to like it and it has some really innovative features. I would say try them all until you find one that works for you but those two are a good place to start.

I look at Macs as just a gimmick, I personally don't see how they are any better. To each their own though, some people just want a system that works and don't care about all the possibilities that a PC offers. When I had to use my girl's Mac, I couldn't stand it.

Cataly5t, wink Sometimes change is a good thing.I'm actually considering making the switch to windows (strictly for production and better plugin support).I just checked out Cubase 7.5 and I have to say that I really like the interface. I still have not yet made the jump to logic pro X due to lack of support for 32bit plugins and I honestly just don't like it that much (coming from a long-time logic user). I will check out Studio One as well. I remember reading good things about it in Computer Music. I guess the thought of switching DAWS scares me a little bit. Sometimes you have to make a decisions that will benefit you in the long run..Thanks for the suggestions.

Absolutely. It's okay to feel a little uncomfortable in a new DAW environment but there is a saying I subscribe to: "life begins on the edge of your comfort zone." These days with so many books, videos and not to mention two forums full of knowledgeable folks that are ready to help you've got all the bases covered. All that is left is to just give it a try and see where it leads you. No problem for the suggestions, glad to help. wink

PS you can get discount pricing on Cubase if you know any students. You could end up getting it for about half price.

Hey Toothpick,

I'm happy, that you seem to be some one openminded! Not that often encountered these days with us MAC people damn

So, really dude. I'm recording music bout 15 years now. I started with Tascam 8t Cassette tape, then Fostex HD (2x16 tracks). I do mostly live rock/metal stuff with a loooot of cool synths. Symphonic n big music. Huuuge projects! headbang
As DAW I had a G5, now a MacBook for fooling around with Logic X (it's not that bad. Synths are really cool and the AI-Drummer is really something! Check it out and play with it!), S1 and Live9.

For doing serious stuff I have a PC now. And most of the Plugs run better on my PC with Studio One and Live9! S1 even lets you run the new Arturia SEM and Wurlitzer and the Waldorf stuff (you can't use most of the presets, but S1 saves and recalls your handmade sounds perfectly. You can render, just everything!). Really, every fucking crack runs flawlessly on that DAW!! It's a dream to me. S1 is a lot like logic and I didn't had problems to get into it at all. Pleaaaase, check it out.
Since I'm using it, I am in a better mood everyday, really not kidding!! Ask Mrs. Sakurahime. yes
I used to use Nuendo, which is also cool, but has a lot of frustrating little stupid mfs in its code, which are actually not crack related. (A friend of mine has a legit Cubase 7 and these "bug-like" mfs are still there! angry I couldn't believe it. He too, uses S1 a lot now. I always wanted to buy Cubase someday, but I surely never will. I'll buy S1 for sure.
When you try it, you will experience, that there aren't these "stupid things" in the code that are annoying and slow down your work. You can be fast, you can exchange plugins fast, try things out. And because its fast your ears won't get tired that much and your stuff sounds better. Actually, since its a 64bit engine, I have the impression it even sounds better, but that is probably esoteric crap! rofl
To make a point, there isn't this annoying code crap in S1 like in other DAWs. The dudes of Presonus really think long bout what they're coding, I think. The updates most of the time include something, I previously thought to be cool to have realized in the software. I think there are people in the team, that actually work with the soft and actually code it for themselves, or they are just listening to they're customers, I don't know. Live9 is pretty "UNannoying" too. But I use it rather as an huge instrument than as a DAW. (it rewires perfectly into S1)

So, sorry for writing that much and for appearing like an advertiser, but really, try it, I'm not exaggerating, it made my live better.
LogicX to play
S1 as DAW
Live9 as a huuuuge and cool VSTi

Greetz phones

PS:
I feel like Cataly5t.
I feel about MAC like its a toy. You can play with it and surf through the net with it comfortably, but I can't seriously work with it. There are some annoying things about it. All the rights shit and hey, try to REALLY uninstall a soft! That sheathing soaks itself full with little files in every fucking corner! (Something people used to say about Windows by the way ;-))
