Invisible Limiter - a transparent mastering limiter

A.O.M. Invisible Limiter is a transparent look-ahead brickwall limiter with automatic attack/release-time optimization. The Invisible Limiter's limiting algorithm minimizes the difference between the original and the limited signals. This behavior is appropriate to avoid coloration your material through final limiting stage in mastering. Under ordinal amount of reduction, it is hard to distinguish before and after limitation.

Stereo Imager D - stereo image manipulation

Stereo Imager D is a decorrelation-based Stereo Imager.

Wave Shredder - waveform destruction

Wave Shredder is a collection of destructive processors: Rate Reducer, Zero-time Gate, Waveform Cut&Fold, Chopper and Bit Crusher.

Rate Reducer is a zero-order hold rate reducer. Zero-time Gate makes input signal to zero immediately when the signal level falls the threshold. Zero-time Chopper plays the inverse of Gate. Cut&Fold section truncates under zero signal to zero, and in fold mode, the section put inverse truncated signal instead of truncation. Bit Crusher reduces signal's resolution.

Yes the limiter is quite nice, although I tend to use the softube bbe louness maximizer in leiu of limiters generally (it isn't exactly a limiter although it does do limiting--it is technically a psychoacoustic processor).

Yes, but for me, when i tend to use the limiter, i don't use it for some extra psychoacoustic features, i use it after the mastering process, when i need the final extra volume boost, so i need to be transparent as possible, to preserve the song character also the low-end, despite the increase of volume.(for this, Invisible-Limiter is a beast compared to waves ones or other limiters). For psychoacoustic needs, i use SPL-Vitaliser-MK2-T before the limiter, so i shape everything i need before the final loudness boost. When i said that this is the best limiter, i meant only about limiting process performance, which this limiter is a bada*s. Cheers! mates

I explained my point of view about that Limiter, you can call my opinion being subjective, i won't mind about it, but for me, is my go-to Limiter. I was obsessed in the past achiving that loud squeeze without artifacts and weaking low-end. Before i used this, i used also FG-X and Pro-L. I liked Pro-L too and is my second option to go if AOM-IL won't work. It gets closer to IL. Anyway, i don't work for anybody, as far as i know, there's a one-guy developer for these plugins, a japanese one. He's not able to pay official ads to praise his plugs on the marked so why would he pay somebody to praise the cracked ones? hehehe, it was just my opinion that i based it on my personal tests. tongue

If i like the limiter, that doesn't mean that i like all the plugs from this developer. But on limiter, take one of your best mixes, drop some limiters on the master bus including this one, set de 16x Oversampling on this baby and crank up that ugly nose of this plug and compare them. mates

Evorax8, I agree that this is definitely one of the most transparent limiters on the market and the best plugin in the pack. The whole pack is worth buying just for the limiter.

I would also like to mention LoudMax limiter and especially VladG Limiter that interestingly both happen to be freeware, so give them a whirl. :) But... I don't squeeze the mixes I work on so much. I leave about 6-10dB of dynamics in depending on the track, so the limiters that just don't fuck up the stereo image and frequencies, and keep the transients as well preserved as possible work best for me. I also like the final master to sound as close to the mix as possible. People often look for the limiter to flatten up the frequencies. Lots of them work that way, and Waves limiters are quite crappy sounding, yeah. LOL You can get that 2002 muddy limited sound with L2. LOL mates I really don't like what L2 does to the transients and frequencies.

SineWave, Yea', definetely. I'm doin' progressive, electro & hip-hop and i tend to get my songs loudness to the level of the commercial one (on the mastering stage, i always compare the loudness of my song with the loudness of some commerial songs from big artists like SHM, Gaga, Derulo, Mars, etc. using the DP-Meter 4 from Blue Cat Audio) and the Invisncible Limiter does this the best for me, without compromising my sound quality. But if any beginner sees this, they have to know first the fact that a bad mixed/mastered song with unballanced overall peaks will trigger the limiter in a wrong way, messing the overall job of the limiter. So anyone who wants commercial loudness, with a bad mix/master, it won't matter the limiter you use, cause it will sound worse on any of them. rofl
Limiters like to eat good signal, not a bad one, or else it will vomit it on the output.

I was just comparing different limiters and my opinion on the Invisible Limiter actually changed... you should really try LoudMax and VladG Limiter. They both preserve transients better and bass, too. VladG's preserves more bass, but LoudMax sounds more balanced to me. I'm speaking of the case when you really want to squash the track, and I tried it with some breakbeat-ish electronica. You know, 909, gritty electronic sounds. Something that can use more bass. wink
