well for me, yes, awesomeness. beats amplitube/guitar rig easily. in pair with the lepou ampsims in detail. so yeah, very very good sims, loads IR's too, which is a must have for quality imo.

I really do not care how many sims come out, just as many as possible in order to bring down the crazy high hardware fx prices

As more people use Guitar Sims live ( as I do) the hardware FX companies will have no choice but to bring their hardware prices down.

a unit that used to cost $1200 now costs $400 and eventually we will replace some of the guitar fx hardware with Amp sims

I never thought I would be running a Guitar Sim live with just a Small 10x10 firewire interface with a laptop and do a small show with no amps, no floor fx units

Everything is running off the daw including the programming switching with automation on the Guitar Sim running in Presonus Studio One.


Ten years ago this was impossible

First sim I ever used was Amplitube 1 ( still have it)

I say bring on 1000 amp sims, the more the better!!!

This makes about as much sense as your host rants.

Not many people profit hugely from the manufacture of music gear. They aren't luxury items with huge markups on them. Prices have come down a bit on hardware because of labor costs and cheap imports.

Not to mention, you're running your amp sims on a $1000 +/- computer, right? There's no materials, assembly, or shipping cost with software.

Much better than I imagined, I'm not sure what precise amps they are modelling, but I liked the amps that sounded like a Matchless and a 5150. Some of these independent amp sim makers are really taking it to Amplitube and Guitar Rig.

Now if we can just get Scuffham S-Gear *wink*

cool, cuz after all these years I grew pretty disappointed with modelling...even sold all my multiFX (but for an old rp21d!) and went bk to stompboxes and analogue gear!...I pretty much only use softube metal amp and the lynchbox amp in th2 when I need to....but I'm gonna give that one a try then
