They enforced their protection schemes again, that's why a KeyGen has been released. Keygens aren't bad but when you want to to migrate to another user account on your computer machine you'll have to authorize again. Cracks are clearly better!

Random Question:
Is Cracked version of plug-ins or the one's with keygen work on original version of DAWs such as cubase ?

Anyone Tested ?

Of course its just a PLUGIN in Vst its only a dll file in Pro Tools case (old rtas)its called dpm the new AAX is simply called aaxplugins.
But Cubase and Pro-Tools could crash when you try to load it and even when cubase is scanning for the new plugins.
Well that goes for LEGIT ones aswell so if you bought one plugin and the Daw crashes it wont feel so good.
And it dont have to be plugins with kg that works in legit DAW:s the patch one also works.
keygens can also be made for plugins that DONT have an installer.

the reason that i'm asking such question is that i'm planning to buy the original version of Cubase or Pro Tools and i may need to keep some of my cracked plug-ins !!
any Advise ?

I disagree with that, to me keygens are much better. Sometimes keygens can be used for more than one version while with a patch most of the times the new versions need to be patched again. Also, with a genuine serial you don't have such troubles as time-bombs and so on. To me a patch is the "easy" (please note the quotes) and dirty way of doing things ... Anyway all this is just a matter of personal tastes, isn't it ?.

Here are my two cents ... If you read the posts on audioz (win section mostly), almost in everyone of them you'll find someone complaining about the cracked plug-in crashing Cubase. Also Pro Tools doesn't support VST nor AU natively although there are plenty of unofficial ways of doing it like this one and that one (Mac in this case, but there are also ways of doing it in windows too). Now the decision is up to you.

I dont know much about it but i think if you buy Cubase or Pro-Tools (which are dongle protected) im not sure if the cracked dongle protected plugins you find here and elsewhere will work.

Their are a few Nexus,Sonnox,Softube,Antares etc etc so look that up fist before you buy a DAW.

Also if you go for Cubase and you also use Wavelab i dont think its gonna work..

As for choosing a DAW
I would NOT go for Pro-Tools as they are abanding RTAS for AAX only when version 11 comes out (which is soon) so most of your RTAS plugins you may have? (i have a backup disc with my plugins and software if something goes wrong) will not work anymore.

But it all depends on what you are doing with your DAW and which one you like best and have the best workflow with.

I have lately been using Reaper more than Cubase i also try to learn Sonar,Samplitude,Sequoia.


Many people like Studio One and Ableton Live
Well they all here :) so give them a try before you make up your mind
