see the last example: my PSP generic unipatch... one month after this patch comes a brandnew plug by PSP (the springwork) and the universal patch works! (i test such things before with all aviable fx and versions of a company that i can get and only if really all works *without the patchers disturb not another version or complete different fx code* i decide to make a uni patch, this is sometimes complex because you need to try out different methods only because one fails on also only one plug... the time to beginn with some new) and near everytime a company do not change on every new thing the whole mainprotection! thats why it works usually also with new ones (without promise this, but the past shows me that it is more true than not) "So it should usually also works with any coming updates or new Products from Wavearts!"

im absolute not the man for such a job (im high rated UNDERskilled) - talented hq-nerds like CHAOS should maybe spend some hours on that (i allready look into the files but honestly: the first dongle msg incl. closing = bypassed -> cubase starts - then dongle msg's on most implented plugins = bypassed -> i could all see and klick at all like in a regged version, the about screen also doesnt shows this registrate anymore at this point - BUT all without get ANY sound (audio output) out of this daw incl. export fails - at this time i must give it up!

the only thing i can promise you: IT is NOT a online-game (it is a patch for some audio fx) - i suggest you to google "antivirus fail" etc. or just spend MORE \ ENOUGH money in a GOOD antivirus soft, because this ones give green lite on sensitive keygens\patches etc. like this one. only quality coded engines are able to compare between REALLY bad things and good things, but this engines have (mostly) also a higher PRICE)

instead of asking me, maybe ask YOUR SELF first!!! why all this cheap engines shows you ANOTHER virus and not ALL THE SAME! thats a good question to begin understand what happens... (so maybe ask "Antiy-AVL", why that company think that i spread online-games trojaner )

not again, its a well know problem - just turn AV off for that and itll work.

Oh, in this case I must say: Chapeau!!
For MAC there's a tool called iPatch that could generate similar Patchers, but it's not so easy to make (a working) one.

To add to what Pagurida said:

Sometimes, some crackers also use packers/protectors on their patches or keygens.
These will compress the file and sometimes encrypt them, aka making it harder for other crackers to find how they did it so they can do the same instead of inventing their own method; and also make it harder for the makers of the software to find out how their software was cracked and create a better copy protection.
Ex.: the VMprotect packer AiR uses on their Presonus Studio One Keygen to stop team UNiON from copying their method.

There are a lot of packers out there, like the above mentioned VMprotect, that are made by legitimate companies who will license them to other legitimate companies. Most antiviruses will recognize these, because the legit companies can pressure the antivirus companies to make sure their antiviruses don't shout VIRUS!!! to the user.

However, as these are very commonly used by companies to protect their software, lots of crackers learned how to crack these commercial packers.
(ex: about 10 months ago, Team BRD managed to crack VMprotect, which was used to protect Daemon Tools Pro Advanced 5.1, so it's only a matter of time before UNiON learns how to do the same)

So, for a crack team, it's pretty much a worthless effort to use these.
What can they do?
They can use less known packers, such as those made by crackers themselves, or those made by virus programmers.
As these packers are not massively used or backed by legitimate companies, antivirus makers don't see the use of adding code to their antiviruses to unpack these and verify whether or not there's a virus inside. So, they'll take the easy way and just tell their users that those files are infected and voila.

P.S. I don't know whether Tracer has used a packer in this case, but if he has, this could be one of the causes.

PS: Everything working fine with Cubase 5 - Win 7 64 bit. Installed the 32 bit DLL's on yellow folder Programs 86x (Steinberg folder = Vst Plugins folder). Followed Tracer's instructions and patching was successful. No warnings and no problems with antivirus here - using Avast 7 latest definitions.

... and im still try to optimize this virus things in the future (by the way: NO packer is used in this release, i think it is more because of using a old patchers engine, i have to figure out this more...)
