IK Multimedia T-RackS CS v4.1 PORTABLE

Thanks TRACER. Unfortunately it is not "self contained" as it writes files to the windows and system folders which could mess up previous legit installations from IK Multimdedia.

Did you verified from an explorer OUTSIDE this release it is not fully sandboxed ?

Because TRACER probably used the usual settings. Program files, system files and registry keys are sandboxed for sure by default.
But of course, if you check those files from INSIDE the portable app, you will see them modified ;)

I had some troubles years ago making FL Studio and Ableton portable, but nothing related to overwriting...

i never make usual settings at a virtualizing process and i also not use noob tools such as "thinapp" - the reason why my portables are working is that i take care in every single individual app - in a way that it works proper on any system, and if some less KB parts gets stored in eg your win temp than it MUST be.

the mainreason for making portable is just that you directly can use the application (no matter if from HD or USB) without installing all... not more or less and i hope all works fine here in the way i describe from above...

to this FL STUDIO: i was been the only on the whole net who makes real PROPER portable ones (with many CUSTOM work \ custom coded scripts at spoon studio) spend on this (the same with REASON, you found only ONE reason portable in the net, the one from me because you can NOT make a portable of this 2 examples (FL studio\reason) by using mainstream-tools such as "thinapp" with "3 click setups" that should works for anyone

'Tracer T-RackS CS v4.1 Portable Edition' with the new 'Bus Compression' Plugin

This same 'Portable Edition' within a 'FX Chain' with these 4 New Plugins models...

The whole is working perfectly and smoothly !



As I read some comments about newly created folders and/or files,
the only changes that I noticed are done within this 'Mobile Edition' itself
(I launch and use mine from a USB Key), and the changes are as follows :

All the following is done inside the folder named : 'T-RackS-Files'

- Creation of a folder : 'META' that leads to a file :
'T-RackS CS.exe.__meta__'

- Inside the 'MODIFIED' folder, 3 new folders are created : '@APPDATALOCAL@', '@DOCUMENTS@', and '@PROGRAMFILESCOMMONX86@', each one containing
respective sub-folders, but these stay empty after usage

- Inside the already present folder : '@PROGRAMFILESX86@',
a new folder : 'QuickTime' is created with sub-folders that also
stay empty after usage.

- 2 '.bin' files are also created : 'XRegistry.bin' and 'XSandbox.bin'

I don't have noticed any other change that those explained, so I don't think that anything is directly added (or deleted) within the 'host' computer used for that 'Mobile Edition'.

P.S: I mainly use this 'Mobile Edition' under 'x86-32bit' OS,
but as the 'x64-64bit' versions are available, as well as the 'Pro Tools' too, some users can certainly take advantage of these within their respective '64bit'OS and 'Pro Tools' DAW.
