The Bongiovi DPS Plug-In is a system-wide audio solution that enables users to DPS-enhance all of their computer’s sound. Using the same audio mastering techniques employed in the original Power Station recording studio, Bongiovi’s technology interacts with the source material in real-time, effectively decompressing the audio signal. DPS’s unique profiling system then informs the DPS processor how to optimize the acoustic performance of your listening hardware, claiming to enhance the audio performance of your computer’s internal speakers. DPS also says it will optimize accessories or systems such as headphones, external speakers, televisions, and home theater systems, whatever you plug your computer into. No additional hardware is required.
The patented technology behind DPS was conceived by recording engineer and producer Tony Bongiovi and developed by the Bongiovi Acoustics team. DPS is a digital solution to a digital problem: audio quality degradation as a result of digital media compression. The concept of Real Time Audio Re-mastering was born in the recording studio and validated by application in automobiles, consumer electronics, computers and phones. DPS is a software solution that is easily and cost-effectively implemented into virtually any product that reproduces sound.
