PRODUCT INFO:
The user, must provide all Images needed to create a skin. Usually, these are :

One Image for the normal state of the skin. This is the “Normal” Image and is the one that Samplitude / Sequoia displays when opened.
One Image for the active state of the skin. This is the “Active” Image and is the one that Samplitude / Sequoia displays when any of the Items (Buttons, VU-Meters,) is active. Additionally, if any Rotary Knobs (Pan-Pots) are used, their Images must also be provided.

These programs, do not create or modify images. They only use the provided images, to create skins. Before using the programs, you must create all images in another image editing program. If these images are not made correctly, it is not possible to create a working skin. In user's manuals, there are all the details about how to make these images.

Samplitude / Sequoia use some parts of the Images you have painted, to represent the actual Items needed for any skin to work. These Items are Buttons, VU-Meters, Plug-in slots, Faders, ...

But how does Samplitude / Sequoia know where exactly have you painted, for example, your Solo Button ? This is what the SkinCreator does.
Each tool in the Tool Box, represents one real Item for the Vip/Track/Mixer. They all must be placed and aligned over each Item you have painted in your Images. For example, you drag & drop a Button Item from the ToolBox on top of the Image. Then, you move / re-size it so it is aligned with the Solo button you have painted on the Image. Then, press the F5 key, to open the ObjectProperties window and set it's properties to Solo Button.

Now the program knows where to find the real Solo Button.

i have check this shortly, here some first-step notes for (maybe) samplitude gui-designers: i recommend to download first the "Cameo demo skin" template aviable for this creator (for a better orientation and to see how it works in "action") at:

Some gfx beginner\noob notes: maybe put any .png of this after loading in creator in photoshop, make a new layer with eg. 50% transparency over this png and create your own squares, corners etc. with styles\layerFx over this what you see on the first layer, the original .png. if finish, turn of the transparency, reduce your layer to 1 png and test it. (this should be enough training, maybe make now some higher skilled things by doing your complete own design and point finally all the squares, circles etc. with skincreator to the right places of your new skin) hope it's a bit understandable... hope we see here some stunning mixer-designs etc. for samplitude in the future

tracer, I thanks you a lot for your post and (as hopefully you are the same person), for the patcher you wrote for the new update! wink

incidentally, I have submitted a post here using your patcher and the update for the "simple" edition (i.e. not suite) I downloaded from magix..but why not release it as your patcher works for that one too?
I couldnt find that update anywhere and the one for the suite edition doesnt want to update the simple version....so I hope you don't mind! yes

thanks, glad you like this post :) now to the PRO X version (without the suite) - hope i understand you right, it's a bit difficult for me. im not sure... you want to use the latest PRO X version but it doesnt work with my X SUITE patcher ? (well, i have not really checked this, but a user from here msg me that it works also well, because the X and the SUITE based on the same code\exe *for usual*)

or is it this:
you just search the latest update for the PRO X version to use after this my patcher? (btw. if you try to update the X version with the latest X SUITE version it doesnt works because the update installer search some SUITE parts on your HD and post a msg-api like "please install samplitude pro x !suite! first")

yes that's the same as what this user told you, I also confirm that your patcher works very well with the PRO version (the one without the suite), but I just thought it was starnge that [this update + your patcher] was nowhere to be found on the internet (i.e. as an official release from your team)...

so as to get your patcher it is first necessary to download the update for the PRO suite, and then we still have to download the update for the PRO (with no suite) from magix AGAIN....(there's no post with your patcher ONLY either)

that's why I had submitted a post gathering both the update for the non suite version and your patcher here....

I was just wondering why you or your team hadn't done that...but as you didnt check whether it worked, now I know why!

ah, i see - so all is good (i not really checked this X only thing because i was sure that this patcher works also well with that version yes )
this is no official release, because all is based of the work and crack method of "team assing's" releases from the past, so i made this just private for my own to work with this update. after some requests i decide to upload this patchers only here for samplitude users, because no one (why ever, the most are able to do things like i've done) brings a patched update on a site. (btw. you can not move a crack with 1:1 the same patched bytes to a distro and say: please dont nuke this fantastic crack no - hope you know what i mean) this assign thing work 100% in the past and it seems also some more days in the future, that's simple the main thing for the serious daw-user, and if this method doesnt works someday i'll be SURE a group "xyz" release official the next one's. at the end a few words about the team (you say: "your team"), we are only a some ppl from around the world, interested in software protections. i have cracked soft for more than 10 years ago and belive me, i was not really good in that, so i do only some gfx-things for this team today...

now that you mention it, I remember reading it somewhere that it was based on ASSiGN's work but I had forgotten about it when I posted! thanks to both ASSiGN and you then! I'm glad it works for sure! but just to mention it, your patch is the one I found almost everywhere when looking for the update only, so it spread rather well! ah ah

I've checked that birdline soft and it seems it's gonna take a while to make a complete skin...

have you tried it out? I spent one hour checking out how they made the camo skin..interesting!

I guess I'll have to go step by step cuz as I dont have a lot of free time, otherwise, I reckon I'll start but will probably never finish!
but the good thing in samplitude is that I can just update parts of the GUI with a different skin, that will certainly push me to keep going! =)

yes, now it's spreaded really everywhere. after i steel assigns work, some other lamers take now my work an release it as package with addons. (in other words: the masterlamer-circuit is alive, lol) - yes with that birdline thing you need some time, but it is a good help if ypu plan to make a complete new skin (not one that based on the "preset-skins")
the mainthing on this app is only to place your gfx in the right directions\places, just google, there some videos out there... so if you have free time, KEEP ON mate wink
