Sound and Vision. Unified.
The expert in spectral editing and AI-driven audio processing

SpectraLayers delivers audio empowerment by showing sounds as visual objects. You can explore, reach in, take and transform, working wonders on tasks ranging from repairing and restoring audio to freeform sound design. Unmatched selection tools developed over many years are now joined by new artificial intelligence-driven audio extraction and repair processes, making this the most significant version of SpectraLayers yet.

The vanguard of spectral editing applications

Touch, sculpt, and shape audio on a spectral graph

Automatic, artificial intelligence-driven processes

From repair and restoration to freeform music creation

How does stem separation in this version compare to mvsep for example?

It doesn't. MVSEP optimizes quality over speed. All the rest of the market optimizes speed over quality. There are still chirping artifacts in Spectralayers (which are a sign of an absolutely worst separation algo). MVSEP has some spectral artifacts at times, but chirping is not one of them. Also, summing SpectraLayers stems is still having artifacts. Summing MVSEP stems is often very hard to distinguish from the original. Now, MVSEP runs blazing fast (splits a song in under a minute) over the 5000 nVidia series, we may see some cool stuff in the next years

For me, MVSEP is the best. (I haven't been able to test this one yet.) But I've noticed that MVSEP incorporates many new separation tools that offer tons of possibilities. Some work wonderfully. But I also noticed that a few months ago they changed the conversion tool option. I work primarily at 96 kHz, and they gave me the stems at the same frequency. Now it downloads at 48 kHz. Not a big deal, by the way.

i'm still wondering if there would be a way to switch between license types... these new installers from steinberg are all in one and the emulator always goes for the complete one...
