Design the polar pattern of your dreams.

PolarDesigner gives engineers and producers more creative freedom and control than they’ve ever had before. Simply pull up PolarDesigner in your DAW to manipulate your recorded audio, changing and recombining polar patterns (omni, cardioid, hypercardioid, figure-eight, etc.) across up to five frequency bands. So hours, days, or even years after the musicians have all packed up and gone home, you can reshape the sonic characteristics of the microphones that captured their performances.

Austrian Audio’s PolarDesigner open-source plug-in is a post-production dream come true. Optimised for use with our OC818 and OC-S10 large-diaphragm condenser microphone working in dual-output mode, PolarDesigner gives engineers and producers more creative freedom and control than they’ve ever had before.

Features:
Store, recall, and share presets
Powerful terminator algorithm for eliminating or rescuing selected frequencies and instruments
EQ control for imprinting the tonality of free-field or diffuse-field idealised responses
Solo/mute each band
Full automation
Phase linear
Optimised for use with the OC818 in Dual Output mode but works with any dual output source
Ideal for busy sessions: tune instrument pickup during the mix stage

Formats: VST3, AAX, AU (OSX 64 Bit/Windows 32 & 64 Bit)
Mac requirements: OSX 10.7 or later
Windows requirements: Windows 7 or later

What’s new in v3.0.0:

Unfortunately, the plugin itself is mono. Does anyone know how to convert it to stereo, or at least add a VST plugin to balance it out at the end? The plugin is good, but only works in mono for frequencies.

No. The plugin is stereo. 2 inputs, 2 outputs. Even if it was mono, your DAW should have copied the left input to the right output so that you hear the same thing in both left and right channels. Your problem has to be with your DAW.

In case it is needed, I leave it here: Mono to Stereo.

*White Label falseFi (free vst 32bits)
*Waves PS22 Stereo Maker, which doesn't sound natural to me, nor do I like it.
*Izotope Imager, one of the best.
*Bx_Estereomaker
*Valhalla Room, very good for recreating stereo atmospheres.
*TC Electronic (like VSS3)
*Schoeps Mono Upmix, one of the best for this task.
*Nugen Stereo Maker
*Goodhertz MidSide: with a shuffle function, like Waves PS22.
*Toneboosters Omnisone, one of the most natural.
*Finally, Exponential Audio's Phoenix reverb, an ideal complement for this work.
