NastyDLA mkIII – a classic chorus echo device with tape-delay simulation
Improved Sound, Precision & Performance!
Experience the next evolution of NastyDLA mkIII, now with a refined input stage that incorporates an audio transformer circuit for a harmonically rich and detailed sound.
In addition, the interplay of compression and tape saturation has been further balanced to deliver improved dynamics with reduced distortion for a smoother, more consistent sound. The delay section has been fine-tuned for refined stereo imaging and more flexible, expressive modulation.
Under the hood, state-of-the-art oversampling with ADAA and the introduction of Zero Delay Filtering (ZDF) ensure pristine audio quality. Numerous optimizations and bug fixes improve stability and compatibility and make this version the most mature to date.
Changelog:
v3.5
Input Stage & Gainstaging updates
INPUT drives both compressor and tape saturation now, output level compensated.
Input calibration has been changed to -18dBFS (OVU reference point).
The (SAT) amplifier circuit has been updated to add further saturation effects and an audio transformer circuit has been added.
Compression improvements
Improved tape compressor performance with reduced distortion.
VU meter gain reduction ballistics adjusted.
Delay, Color and Modulation changes
The stereo and dual-mono delay modes were optimized for increased stereo width.
The PingPong delay output level and L/R balance was adjusted.
For COLOR mode I the HP filter has been changed to a less steeper curve.
The MODULATION frequency is not fixed anymore but set by the RATE setting now.
MODULATION Type II has been changed to not modulate the feedback signal but the pre-delay signal.
Performance & Compatibility
Oversampling algorithms updated and includes Anti Derivative Anti Aliasing (ADAA) now.
Windows 10 compatibility improved.
Minor Fixes & Improvements
Updated filter models introducing Zero Delay Filtering (ZDF) and minimized quantisation noise.
Noise is generated individually per channel now.
Fixed: VU/GR meter was not properly responding to HF content.
