Legendary Hardware Simulations with a Deep Vintage Soul
Deep Vintage is a suite of legendary hardware simulation plugins that will immerse you in real analog magic. Not merely pursuing bona fide circuit replication or specific tonal qualities, Deep Vintage simulates the entirety of sound to reproduce the vintage β€œsoul” in a digital world. Depth, sheen, low-end saturation…every nuance of the hardware’s sonic spirit is ready for you to ignite, with minimal CPU usage and latency.

APNN 2.0

Trained with Three-Body Tech’s proprietary APNN (Audio Processing Neural Network) 2.0, Deep Vintage learns on sound, and sound alone, creating an indistinguishable listening experience from the original hardwares.

APNN 2.0 is a neural network specializes in simulating analog hardwares. During the training process, APNN 2.0 and the hardware will be inputted with the same audio, and APNN 2.0 will learn how the hardware changes the audio in both waveform and spectrum dimensions. This means that a well-trained APNN 2.0 instance can capture both the dynamic and tonal characteristics of its source hardware. The following diagram demonstrates how, as training progresses, APNN 2.0’s waveform and spectrum response deviation gradually decrease, eventually becoming indistinguishable from that of the original hardware. Check out the corresponding demos below to hear how APNN 2.0 progressively learns and replicates the sound of the hardware.

The Deep Vintage - 12-in-1 Complete Bundle includes:
Brit 73: Inspired by the most legendary preamp on this planet. This class-A, transistor preamp with EQ epitomizes the beauty of sound, offering unparalleled clarity, sheen, and bite.

Brit 84: Inspired by the original model of a preamp as coveted as Brit 73, Brit 84 features additional frequency bands, a unique 'High Q' mode, and an extra Low Pass filter. However, Brit 84 is not simply an 'advanced version' of Brit 73, as each delivers distinct sound characteristics.

US Rack: Inspired by a legendary 'US' style channel strip that features a preamp, a line-driver, and a renowned EQ, US Rack delivers a highly musical and rich analog sound while maintaining extraordinary flexibility.

Thick Pre: Inspired by a legendary vintage-style preamp known for its thick, warm, and smooth sound, this model features a 'Presence' control to enhance additional harmonics, and a unique 'Deep' switch that can make your sound even larger and thicker.

Transformer X: Other than electron tubes, the most tone-defining component in hardware circuits is the transformerβ€”especially vintage transformers with their signature 'iron sound'. Inspired by a custom 'color box' utilizing a vintage US transformer, Transformer X can easily add warmth, body, and low-end girth to your sound.

Green AD: Does it make any difference when we directly connect an AD (Analog to Digital converter) to a DA (Digital to Analog converter) ? Absolutely yes. Inspired by a world's top-tier AD/DA converter, Green AD brings analog warmth into the digital world.

Nylon: Inspired by a unique and captivating circuit, Nylon offers two modes of coloration: Yellow for shimmering highs and Green for robust lows. Both are 'Transparent Overdrive' effects that add subtle harmonic content, gentler than typical saturators. The Yellow mode mainly generates harmonics at high frequencies, giving a bright, polished 'shine.' The Green mode mainly adds saturation at low frequencies, making bass, kick drum, or drum bus more massive and aggressive.

Tube Shelf: Inspired by one of the most iconic and musical program EQs of all time, Tube Shelf faithfully emulates the EQ characteristics and unique tonal coloration of the original tube electronics. The Tube Shelf module is primarily used to adjust low and high frequencies. With relatively few frequency band options, it is often paired with other EQs for more detailed tonal shaping, most commonly with Tube Bell and Tube Filter modules.

Tube Bell: As a complement to Tube Shelf, Tube Bell is primarily responsible for mid-frequency processing. It features two Peak sections and a Dip section, all utilizing Bell-type filters.

Tube Filter: Tube Filter reinforces Tube Shelf and Tube Bell with High Cut and Low Cut. Though High Cut is less common in mixing, Tube Filter's smooth, natural High Cut excels at 'darkening' sound when necessary.

Tape S: Inspired by a 1/4-inch tape machine from the late '80s – early '90s which is favored by many professionals for its unique sonic signature, Tape S delivers exceptional sound quality in mixing. Characterized by its warm midranges, smooth high ends, and rich harmonics, it enhances depth and richness in any bus or master mix.

Tape M: Inspired by a legendary 2-track tape machine from '70s Germany, Tape M delivers a warm, distinctive character with a lively low end. Due to its earlier origins, it has a richer coloration and slightly more pronounced wow/flutter. When driven slightly hotter, it adds subtle harmonic distortion to help achieve loudness without excessive compression, making it a refined tool for mixdowns or mastering.

A witch says, MERRY XMAS!

Merry X Mas r2r and friends!
However if you plan to use these plugins be cautious and read through the Gearspace thread, most modules are buggy but this is very promising technology.
I use Transformer X and Nylon, they are bug free apart from the impulse truncation which gives them weird ripples in the frequency response

Buggy simulations based on "AI", far from authentic

If you're judging from the V1.0 engine, you might want to give these a second shot. Many of them are quite good now.

Cytomic have only a bus-compressor, a resonant filter and a screamer pedal. What you are talking about? Are you a Cytomic endorsman ?

I know we aren't supposed to say extra 'thank yous' in here but it is Christmas, so I want to thank R2R for their hard work throughout the year and to wish them happy Xmas, and a very happy new year. And to each and everyone who reads this too. Have a great one!

I look forward to giving these plugins a try out.. They look very exciting.

When using Crossover, Opening the Machine ID file freezes the keygen
Anyone else?

A window appears saying "internal error (1)." when trying using the machine ID from TBT with the keygen. OwnTHD vst3 isn't working or not appearing on Ableton. And I can't create a license file for any DV plugin with the keygen, it gives error for all.

Using W11
You will not be forgotten, Olymoon.

I'm having a similar problem - I can't get past the "get machine ID" stage - something is preventing me from saving it to my desktop - or anywhere. I wind up having to use Task Manager to end my DAW. I am using Reason 13 on a Windows 10 laptop. I was able to get a couple of the plugins to work - but all of the DV plugins block my attempt to save the "machine ID" file to my computer - and then I have to exit the program with Task Manager. Anyone else experiencing this anomaly?

Yes! I can't seem to activate the following Deep Vintage plugs:

DV Nylon, DV TransformerX, DV TapeM, DV GreenAD, DV ThickPre, DV TapeS

EDIT: I ended up grabbing the ones I couldn't auth from iamdumb's macOS release of the Deep Vintage plugs

Found the solution. Keygen works fine. It's a permissions issue – on macOS Sonoma at least.

1. Open Terminal & "cd" into "~/Library/ThreeBodyTech" :

cd ~/Library/ThreeBodyTech

2. Paste the following command to change permissions to these folders:
(change YOURUSERNAME to your username/home folder)

sudo chown -R YOURUSERNAME:staff DVGreenAD DVNylon DVTapeM DVTapeS DVThickPre DVTransformerX

Found this by 'cd'-ing into the TBT user library folder and typing "ls -l".
All the plugins titles that failed were set to 'root' and not my user account like the others. The bytes were also 96 instead of 256.

Let me know if this works for anyone else.

Working in Pro Tools 2024.3 & Ableton 12 on Intel/macOS Sonoma.

Also, shoutout to R2R for everything you guys do

Here a chance for all those machines suffering TBTech deactivations; add next lines to the hosts file & turn it as *Read only*. GlobalSign has entered in the digital audio world... I don't know if GlobalSign or TBTech injects something in a *catched* plugin 'cause mine weren't, so I don't know if a deep uninstall & re-install is necessary.

Onanisland pal has contributed with this line & several other pals says that is the unique necessary line;

0.0.0.0 api.threebodytech.com

You can add it to the rest of the lines with or without the www. prefix, I choose do it this way;

0.0.0.0 www.api.threebodytech.com

Please tell us if it helps.

Did you run the 2nd Keygen version?, if not, try it.
  Member 25.04.2017 18

Yes. The problem is not the keygen. I've generated all the licenses and followed all the instructions. The problem is deactivation after the license import.

Solved using Little Snitch, blocking api.threebodytech.com in network monitor through Pro Tools.
