This line of plugins from iZotope is pretty good in theory, but they use so much CPU it's impossible to really use them the way they intended. I think you get more from just using any other reverb + compressor or trackspacer in sidechain...

As always, thanks to R2R this can be tested for free in a full mix in your own pace. I would only want it if it was free.

When people are already happy with reverb & delay plugins you have to invent problems to solve. Truth is, our ears will notice that the reverb or delay is being altered with by the unmasking process and this can lead to unnatural results. Reverbs naturally mask parts of the dry signal. Though, "unnatural" isn't necessarily a bad thing, people love lexicon reverbs & bucket brigade delays, but those are "unnatural" in their own unique way, an artifact of their time, not necessarily "intentional", whilst this is a very deliberate alteration of the process. I think that distinction makes a big difference.
