Team R2R | 2024.11.22 | 144.9 MB
Helix® Native delivers the power of award-winning HXTM Modeling technology in a plugin. Like the hardware members of the Helix family of guitar processors—Helix Floor, Helix Rack, and Helix LT—it features the authentic sounds of vintage and modern amps, cabs, mics, and effects. But this plugin’s repertoire isn’t strictly retro. Helix Native is an open-ended sound design tool that will inspire film/TV/ game composers, producers and engineers, electronic musicians, and anyone else seeking exciting new sounds.

Preset compatibility across the entire Helix family makes it easy to transfer your studio creations to your hardware Helix device and vice-versa, and Helix Native also loads third-party impulse responses (IRs). Helix Native supports AAX, AU, and VST3 formats on Mac® and PC.

The most sought after amps and effects models.
The Helix Native plug-in provides a limitless creative palette for inspiring tone creation, with 60+ amplifiers, 30+ speaker cabinets and a wide range of 100+ effects. The interface provides a fast and intuitive tone editing workflow, so you can instantly access your entire signal chain and quickly tweak your settings. Helix Native also supports 3rd party impulse responses (IRs), offering even greater tonal flexibility.

NEW Cabs

3. 4x12 Cartog C90 (Single, Dual) - Ben Adrian's Cartographer cabinet (Modified Lee Jackson 4x12 with Mesa C90 speakers)
4. 4x12 SoloLead EM (Single, Dual) - Soldano SLO 4x12 cabinet

NEW Effects
1. Teardrop Bass Q (Mono, Stereo) - Dunlop 105Q Bass Wah

Tips : some may already know, but if you don't have Helix hardware, go to the gear menu at bottom left, set the compatibility mode to "OFF" and set as default. It will remove hardware unit CPU restriction, but the patch now isn't compatible with the hardware unit. So, now you can load 12 amps and 28 cabinets in one patch if you're experimental like that. Cheers.

Thanks so much for the hardware compatibility tip! That's really helpful.

By the way, I love these new Fender amps. They sound great!

pair em up with York Audio's Fender IR, they are the best for Fender style amp. Nothing else quite come close.

Heya, first time Audioz user here so I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask: I just downloaded this release onto my pc, but when I try to extract the Helix Setup folder it doesn't work. I'd really appreciate if you could give me some help as I haven't the slightest idea what to do haha

Seen from my POV, the GUI is so, so ugly! It a no-go for me.

These little (horrible) pictograms are perhaps OK for some of us who are more tech-oriented, but when you are a (very) long-time guitarist, you need that the tools you use "speaks" to you, in a obvious and meaningful way.

Just compare with the Overloud TH-U, or Amplitube, or whatever other Guitar FX chain + Amp emulator you like... See?

Of course none of these plugins could be qualified as "perfect", but... most of the time, musicians like me feels "at home" with them. There's nothing "shocking" or "otherworldly" (except the resulting sounds, of course, who can be as crazy / sick as you want! ).

Though it appears to me that the problem could be far less... "problematic", if you also have the hardware. Because it seems to me that this GUI is more destined to HW owners, who will feel more "at home" because the GUI uses (perhaps?) the same symbols that appears on the HW screen (if there is one), or on the HW faceplate...?

To sum up: IMHO, if you are used to the Line 6 / Yamaha symbolics since a certain time, this piece of code would likely appears to you far more "obvious" than to me.
I'm alive!!! :D Isn't it astounding??? ;)

I simply have no time for fancy graphics that suck up memory and resources. Helix is exactly setup as an external hardware FX menu in order for users to go back and forth from their hardware units to the internal stuff.

Heavy graphics only tie up system resources, what we want is stable input and input without lagging or cpu spikes. I would use these sims even with a DOS interface that's how badly I hate overdone graphics nonsense for any audio gear. So far the only sims I can use are :

Jamvox 2.01 ( strums and chords)
Guitar Rig 2 ( faster hammer on-off, power chords)

Jamvox 2.01 and Rig 2 ( these versions specifically) are much faster ( less laggy) than any other sim I have ever used both in VST and standalone.

I am still using Guitar Rig 2 for many years as that is the most stable and fastest non laggy sim I ever used even on higher latency interfaces it's basic but fun.

For that exact reason they made the Metallurgy collection. Personally I find it clean and it has so much more stuff than other similar software. Plus, to my ears it sounds better than most stuff out there.

I have been trying hard over the years to like this software: a ton of gear in such a small print. But... I cannot get it to sound right. I am not an amp guy, nor a metal guy (more of a pedal guy, maybe that is the problem lol). Can't get a good combination of pedals and amps (everything ends up sounding harsh, undefined, too distorted in a bad way). I have read about and tried to adjust gain input, etc. without luck. Maybe the line 6 sound is just not for me.

Thanks to all involved. Let's try it one more time!

I will always suggest Native Instrument Guitar Rig 7 for those who don't really know how to fine tune these stuff especially the amps behavior. The presets are great and they sound like mixed guitar sound you've heard in your fav albums and most of them are ready to go without ever needing any additional tuning. Plugin like Helix are more suitable for people that already been following Line 6 amp sims since their first POD, Spider amps line and whatnot and already familiar with Line 6 type of workflow. The GUI and all the little tweak options are tricky they are geared more towards "live sound" than it is for "studio sound", if that makes any sense.

I had my "pedal guy" phase I don't think that is really a problem, more like an advantage because you probably familiar with all these boutique pedals modeled in Helix.

I have the exact same experience with Helix Native; way too much time spent trying to get a decent sound and too little time actually playing. I'm guessing it just doesn't like my guitar and/or playing style. With plugins like Overloud TH-U, AmpliTube 5 and Guitar Rig 7 all sounding so much better and offering interfaces that make sense; I'm not missing Helix.

I have one thing to say for you: Input level.

Guitar amp sims HATE hot signals.

Depending on your interface, the instrument level input is way hotter than ideal even when turned all the way down.

Try this: Plug your guitar into a good passive DI box, then connect it (at line level) to your interface using a balanced XLR cable, turn the input knob all the way down, and start slowly adjusting from there.

This can make a world of difference when using amp sims. Really, night and day difference.

Helix is amazing once you learn how to dial it correctly. Countless pros are using it all over the world for a reason.

I have to add, the output levels on helix is LOWER than other amp sims. I have Neural DSP Gojira as well and the levels are very different I have to lower Neural down by like -6db. Some maybe just playing with a much quieter output signal. Which then make the comparisons not fair.

Guys.. Neural Dsp.......!!! The tones I get on it are unmatched, you can even plug a cheap harley benton and make it sounds professional

Does anyone one know if this has the synth growler that the line6 m5 has?

You'll find it under "Pitch/Synth", make sure to switch from "Mono" to "Legacy"
in the drop down menu above the list for it to appear.

Very awesome thank you. a hard to use effect but if you pull it off right its one epic effect. pair it with a digitech whammy pitched down and you really take the growling to the next level.

for anyone who is maybe interested consider also that it works perfectly even in older systems with win7.
This "slim" interface taken from Helix external unit helps. It's not a resource hog, it doesn't hurt the latency even in older systems and also here we have the choice to unlock the hardware CPU restriction of the original helix external hardware.
Pair this one with a good input audio interface for the guitar (or bass) and you have some of the best modelers for guitar (of course together with the AxeFX). Unfortunately a modeler is more difficult to config than a profiler, you need a good guitar, good audio interface preamps and good and transparent speakers or cans or probably it's very difficult to ear easily the micro changes that you do and you are sometimes "lost", but this is another story...
