only a few days, Tonex was released here a few days ago and yesterday when I was using it in S1 there came up a message that I am using it in Demo mode, although it still worked and I was able to select different amps etc and their sounds were still working.

I'm not sure if the keygen is working for me at all- as soon as I open it I get:
"Authorization missing! Please quit TONEX and reauthorize using IK's Product Manager", and I'm unable to get past that or do anything with the plugin at all (which confuses me since the person above says that they were still able to use it). Am I doing something wrong?

I'm using Reaper/VST3, but also tried the standalone and had the same result. I am also noticing that the roaming/tonex folder isn't changing after using the keygen (tried "all supported products" and "tonex"), if that's where the key is supposed to be generated at? I also have my firewall preventing any connections.

It need a .reg to create a fake ik manager info , i've found mine on a 1.2.3 install , work perfectky now

Have you tried by merging the "IK Product Manager Fake Info.reg" after install? That .reg is included in previous R2R releases, as v1.75, among others. I guess it was forgotten in this release too.

=======Process-------------
- Obtained the .REG file from earlier version (v1.2.3)
- installed ToneX v1.8.0 on test machine (totally OFFLINE) - win10pro 22H2 (latest c++)
- applied the .REG entries
- ran keygen

=======Result---------------
- The standalone seemed to run without complaining about "trial mode"
- Both Vst2 and Vst3 running under Reaper (v7.35) will produce "trial mode" popup.

KeyGen/Reg file (even when applied together) does not work to make this run correctly.

=====Conclusion------------
- BAD CRACK, don't waste your time with this one. Wait for fix.

I already had applied the required host entries - mainly the first two on that list. But the host file entries are moot since the test machine has no internet.

Is this a possible conflict between the KeyGen and the .REG file maybe? Should they NOT be used in conjunction with each other? The keygen is old and lists a version from 2 years ago....

Re-grabbed ToneX v1.7.5 [R2R] (with the reg file) and also v1.8.0 [R2R] (keygen only).

- Completely cleaned test machine (win10pro 22H2) of everything "IK".
- No internet on test machine
- installed v1.8.0 (ran as admin)
- applied REG file (verified information was written to registry) No keygen yet
- Ran Standalone ToneX
>>> received popup from standalone app saying it was not registered <<<
- Ran KeyGen (the one that comes with v1.8.0) [ran as admin]
- Fired up the standalone app once again
>>> got the preferences popup and assigned audio params etc [OK]
>>> Also got popup saying there was no "ToneNet account made" [dont care]
>>> No trial popup saying there were "X number of days left" [OK]
>>> Noticed the word "DEMO" in middle of bottom grey menu bar however everything was available and no issues with sound so maybe this is a [dont care] as well?

========Tested VST3 in Reaper 7.35=========
- First couple of times calling up the plugin got some esoteric popup about "if you want to use some of the gear in trial mode make a tonex account" or some such b.s.
- Subsequent Reaper instances gave no such popups.
- All gear is available, no sound issues.
- However the word "DEMO" is still sitting in the bottom most gray bar.

========Tested VST3 in Cubase 14.0.10 [R2R]=========
- NO popups encountered even on first instance
- All gear available, no sound issues

Is this experience similar to what every one else is getting? If yes, can you all verify there no time bombing after 9 days?

My mother is again at the hospital, apparently a new ischemic stroke (not sure at all), so the whole family is movilized between home & the clinic, have no chance at all to test, but I hope the whole community do your kind of deep tests in every buggy release.

Oh wow, I had not noticed the "Demo" labeled there. Although then again I barely ever messed with it post-install, so with that said, while I still have not had a timebomb occur after reopening it just now, I don't know if the 9 days would only go off the system clock, or if it has anything to do with time spent using it? Assuming it is totally disconnected from the time of use, then yeah, looks like no timebomb.

Guys, the word "demo" in the bottom center refers to the demonstration panel where you can listen to the sound of the amplifiers.

really? SO it's a [don't care] then. That's fine. Then I guess mine is working now as well.

Still doesn't explain the popups happening on the first few instances of the plugins asking about "using some of the gear in trial mode" though. Those did stop after the first instance or so. Haven't seen any more of them.

The keygen in the v1.8.0 package is different than in previous packages. The menu selection for ToneX doesn't have an old version number attached to it. Using the older .REG file with the new KG seems to make it work. And they both must be applied or you get auth errors...

Was able to import some of these amalgam presets into ToneX so it seems it is working ok.
