Wow with the end of VST2 support it seems that v14 brings more "less" than "more" ... ;-)

It's still possible to activate VST2 support within Cubase 14.

Actually the first time I bought the version upgrade on launch and VST2 is still available. But I guess some people will always complain about losing old shit. Even if it's the warez version.

VST 2 is alive and well. If you guys that love the "latest trend" what about adding support for CLAP plugins ? Right.
It's just devs can't be bothered anymore to provide compatibility because they're becoming nasty.

How many big companies releases VST3 that doesn't work properly and then you have to install the VST2 version of it.

A good daw support even VST2 32 bit so you don't even need a jbridge example: Bitwig.

Haters gonna hate. Just because you don't use it do not mean it's unusable or to to curse others of using it. Old tech that makes good music.

In addition to that is a bit ludicrous that Steinberg the father of VST is getting away with we don't support vst2 anymore you Luddites.

Literally just bought the upgrade, installed, and here it is already. Great work. Seems like this version will finally get me off of Studio One Pro 7 so it's time to sell that.

Having used Studio One for years now, can anyone recommend this? I've tried it in the past and it was unstable, how is it now? Any Studio One users here switched over?

I recommend giving Reaper a try. It's hard in the beginning but after a you've put in some time to learn it's the BEST: stability, customization, etc.

The last time I tried it I couldn't figure out how to route Kontakt multi-outputs, figuring out basic stuff felt like such a creativity killer I abandoned it.

There are 2 ways to do it, can find it youtube, its quite simple if you watch, and if you do the routing to let's say 4 "midi out" you can save it as a track template, put it in the toolbar and insert kontakt with 4 "midi out" everytime you want with a click of a button...

This is very clear how to do it, and the logic is the same as most DAWS:

https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019611538-How-to-Route-Kontakt-to-Multiple-Outputs-in-Reaper

I don't usually use Kontakt in multi-output mode, but now that i followed the instructions, I saved a template for 8 tracks / outputs

Cubase is the KING for MIDI craftsmanship. MIDI in Cubase (nuendo too) just makes sense and you do not have to stand on your head to get things rolling. Having to specially "enable" VST2 sounds a bit weird. There doesn't seem to be anything in C14 that is a "must have" for my use and versions seem to be flying out of the arse of stein way to quickly for my taste.

No DAW is perfect, but most composers in for film use Cubase and its proven to be solid for most of it's users. Of course it depends on your hardware components too. Also consider that this is a new major version and bugs could exist, but relatively solid overall. Any DAW is a learning curve if it has advanced features, so at least a month of warming up to it is reasonable.

Thank you R2R! Does anyone know or can tell if the Grace Period thingy still works? Couldn’t see any articles on Steinberg site (yet)
