Is Gig Performer 5 better than Steinberg LIVE ?

For me, yes. I've noticed a subtle difference about latency... in GP's favor. I find GP more intuitive & *stage on* prepared for, but I can't say Steinberg LIVE is a bad product, SL is more for that console team which usually manages video & lights performance also, while GP is more intended for musicians that simply likes to manage several VSTs chains with lots of configs. Through a midi controller on the floor the chances are astonishing.

Does it scan all your plugins before first use/launch, or can you hand pick them one by one as Patchwork does?

You can select the folders you want it to scan, and you can also choose to Disable plugins from showing up in your Load List in the Wiring View without actually removing them from GP's database, sort of a "favorites.". Incidentally, the scan time is wicked fast, faster than any DAW I've used.

... I feel like I'm missing something here (and not just why scanning of plugins is an issue for people.) In what respect are you comparing Patchwork to Gig Performer? And if you're already using Patchwork for whatever, what's it missing that you're looking for?

I'm always up to looking for alternatives. PatchWork mainly succeeds in the music environment I expose it to; but like almost all software, it does have certain limitations. Certain VST3 plugins can be kryptonite to PatchWork, so looking at other plugin hosts is something I'm willing to do.

If you're looking for a lite, standalone host for an instrument and a plugin or two, like Digital Brains' vPlayer (version 3 is free with four instrument/plugin slots, version 4 is only a single slot, for the free versions anywayβ€”don't ask me why they neutered their free version,) or Kushview Elements which is the poor man's Gig Performer, that makes sense, but Patchwork is more a host within a host, like DDMF's Metaplugin (which a lot of people use to host archaic 32bit plugins instead of a bridge.) I was just curious where the comparing of the two came into play as their main features, or lack of features, makes them distant cousins at best. You're probably aware of those I mentioned already, but if you're using Patchwork more as a host than a plugin comparison tool, they might be of interest to you.

Give Cantabile Performer a try. It's similar to Gig Performer.

Which OS and OS's version? I ask 'cause I've personally seen keygens not modifyn' anything in Windows 11 23H2, a strange security update bans some users actions even with the AV completely disabled. If this is your case try to run the kg in safe mode. In this case could work 'cause GP must be off at validation step. As you surely know, many apps wont start in safe mode, but R2R's keygens do.

Win 10 Pro. Maybe in this case, it would be easier to make changes to the host file, since even after applying the keygen, GP requires verification. The keygen successfully registers GP, but then a window appears asking for an email address and code. As I noticed, the keygen generates a licence file. I have tried moving this file to other folders, but it does not work. Also, the scan takes quite a long time and only at the end of scanning installed plugins a window pops up asking for the code, so it takes a long time. Before this version I sometimes used SEnki version, but in its GP version only PA plugins are detected.

*...well, Deskew Technologies - Gig Performer writes the serial inside C:\ProgramData\icsxml, u'll find strange long named files there, look for any file created when the installation happened & wipe them (in my case I've found three). Do the same about C:\ProgramData\ms-drivers, I've found only one file there.

*Edit your hosts file by adding the next lines;

where is GPRelayer.vst3 located, Im trying to use it with FL
I saw decap use it to run latent plugins with no latency from GP to Abelton

This way u'll be able to use it, the link to the forum is highly recommended. If you've already blocked Deskgew Technologies u'll have to delete those hosts's lines in order to access to their pages. Copy all that you find useful & later block their sites & certification sites again. Don't do it while GP is on.

U'll not find any GP's vst, this software is intended just as a standalone VSTs Loader, which is the best one for me. Blue Cat's Patchwork works in both ways, as DDMF MetaPlugin (this one I like a lot for daw production),

Relayer is meant to be used with other daws or a second instance of gp.
The mandatory vst3 of gp Relayer is not being installed in this release.
Gp user since first release here.
Gp 5 still holds no candle against Reaper in terms of performance sadly, yet.

Correct the plugin to use gp relayer with other daws is not installed for whatever reason.
Shame because it is one of it's best features.

Hello, I know it's a little late but in case someone has the same thing happen to you, download the original demo, install it and take the vst, make a copy on another site, like the one written, and then uninstall that version, to proceed to install R2R and the last step, you place the vst Gp Relayer.vst3 in its place next to the other vst3s. This time it worked for me like this
