Acustica Audio Cream 2 2023-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 11 Jun 2024 | 225.0MB
Cream 2 is based on an iconic series of hand-built British vacuum-tubes, transistors, and solid state hardware made between the late 1950s and the early 70s. Cream offers a unique tone that stands out for its incredible warmth and tonal richness, largely thanks to the rare topology and historic components used in the original hardware.

The Cream Preamp: A Sound So Warm You Might Get Sunburned
The preamp module of Cream packs all the juice of a British transistor-based, solid state recording and mixing console from 1970 plus a classic valve tape machine from the 1960s.

Cream EQ
Cream EQ is the result of an extensive and elaborate sampling process of various hardware units, and is derived from what is arguably the most famous solid-state console of the 1960s. This marvelous example of engineering helped shape the history of music that still resonates today. Add the best features of this powerful tool to this our select collection of “homebrewed” filter emulations, and you’ve got Cream EQ: the perfect mojo machine for your mixes.

The Cream Compressor
Cream's compressor emulates two different, very special hardware units. One of them was sampled from a legendary desk from the 1970s, whereas the second model is based on vintage British tube compressor from the 1960s.

This compressor particularly embodies what we would call the “sound of the sixties,” which is instantly recognizable from The Beatles’ records and which was the hallmark of the sonic signature of most of the recordings that came out of the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

Hi, is it straightforward to install this plugin on a Windows system ? apologies for the stupid question

Thanks!
But attention: as it does not use Hyper technology,
and no 48khz files are included,
it only sounds good on 44hz/96hz!

Using a 2X oversampling plugin host is a good workaround if you run at 48 K => 96 K. Cakewalk has that 2X oversampling option inbuilt in the plugin frame window. It seems to be the only one I've seen so far.

Had the same problem. The blue cat I had was an older version so the solution is to make sure your blue cat is a more recent or up to date version!

I know this will make a lot of people happy! Big ups R2R! One of the essentials is here.

I had this ever since you could get it from Focus rite I mostly reached for the EQ and PRE's but the comp is good too. Everything has a nice warm but punchy sound to it. Still hoping that the colour purple will also see the light of the day soon.

Cream (13) - EMI TG12345 solid state EQ (gray plate), "homebrew" tube EQ (green plate), EMI RS124 (tube), EMI TG12345 MKIV Compressor (solid state), EMI TG12345 MKII and MKIV consoles, EMI TR-50 and EMI TR-90. First acqua to feature a large assortment of line input and microphone preamp choices.

this thing sounds dope. very warm and textured, but clear and punchy at the same time - particularly the mic pres. and you've got a bunch of them, just like with most of acustica stuff.

works wonders on bass, guitars, and drums. you can use the tube if you want a softer, smoother sheen for vocals.

i find that you have to run the input gain very low, though. makes you truly appreciate the automatic gain compensation, which is one of the best features on acustica pres. and, unlike most everybody else, on acustica stuff, the gain leveling actually works. no output difference whatsoever. unique. everybody else's gain compensation usually adds anywhere between 1 to 10 dBs. if you already have a longer gain dependent chain set up, it makes it a nightmare to repeatedly adjust the gain on the pres - or anything else.

i haven't tried that altec/emi compressor, can't wait to try on some drums.

That tube pre sounds amazing on cymbals especially if they are dry cymbals wuldnt use it all the time but it certainly puts sparkles on a dull recording.

these rapidgator links are the worst ever. they always malfunction, and you need to wait for hours to maybe get something on the 2nd-3rd try.

Thank you very much. But I believe that someone admin asked for the peeplink. I hope R2R has already downloaded it.😀. Or is it not necessary? Just use the ones you made available?🤔. Thanks.

WOW! 1GB of content for 2 sample rates?

I take it R2R hasn't "de-bloated" these yet? Should we wait for the witches to do magic on these first ?
