MAAT Digital thEQred v1.2.1 Incl Emulator-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 2024.06.08 | 10.4 MB
Building on the foundation of Algorithmix's much heralded Linear Phase PEQ Red, thEQred transforms that reference quality into a contemporary, cross–platform product. thEQred parametric audio equalizer fulfills the promise of extraordinary smoothness through frequency–based equalization. As with other members of MAAT's thEQ family, its complex 80 bit floating point internal architecture, sophisticated signal windowing, and applied calculation precision all contribute to uncompromising quality and exacting fidelity.

Several features of thEQred attest to MAAT's philosophy of maximum workflow efficiency, such as MAAT's exclusive Contribution Control. New to the product family is VariSlope technology, proprietary to thEQred. With VariSlope, shelving and cut filters offer continuous adjustment of slope from near zero to 24 dB/octave. Unlike other equalizers that let you define or draw the "curve," VariSlope offers unique versatility while preserving the sound quality MAAT's EQs are known for. The combination of linear phase and VariSlope affords very smooth, controlled spectral changes without any phase shift or group delay.

thEQred is available as a perpetual license and as a $119 annual subscription, bundled with LP PEQ thEQorange.

Features —:

Fully parametric linear phase EQ
Free of group delay
Exclusive Contribution Control
Unique VariSlope with continuous slope
Optional live spectrogram
Supports up to 384 kHz sample rates
AutoGain for effortless A/B comparisons
Variable resonant ƒ tunings for common Western scales
Inbuilt tone generator for quick spectral navigation

Have fun with this true emulator work of Nalpeiron/Zentitle. AAX works in legit ProTools as expected.

I remember this company. IIRC you're gonna a need an even way more expensive CPU to run a couple instances.

And precisely cause of that, we need these releases
[2009] Sorry for my English. I'm working on it
[2017] I'm beginning to improve. Hell yeah, I'm a fast learner :D

to be fair MAAT's EQs is cheaper from the original Algorithmix version. The full bundle of 4 plugin is only $1000 or something. The original Algorithmix 32bit bundle can go up to $3000 for the EQ bundle. This is how early days digital Mastering EQs are priced, but these mfs still living in the past.

I do think MAAT's EQs are top somehow, if you consider just the plugin without all those marketing stuns and everything else. This one in particular is the cleanest, lowest noise Linear Phase EQ I've ever tested. It does suck out all your CPU power and pull the latency to the max, not efficient at the slightest, but it does what it says. Love the Blue but it's ridiculously overpriced. Orange not bad either if the Red's extreme is not to one's liking.

Also this exact version is buggy/problematic (check thEQBlue post). Get the previous version.

I don't think it's the type of thing worth the $$ and the headaches when Pro-Q 3 (just as an example), or EQuilibrium do the job just fine. Negligible differences that really don't matter.

they are mastering grade digital EQ, it has its benefit when it comes to that, some ME thinks it is important for them, things that us mortals probably dont even understand just yet. They are ridiculously overpriced but performance wise, it's still unbeatable, the RED EQ has better LP mode than Pro-Q3 Highest LP mode, Equilibrium FIR mode even more complicated but havent compared everything. That's pre-ringing management and high-end frequency accuracy. Notches especially is as transparent as a digital EQ could get (lowest artifact). For some people it matters. Overkill for production and mixing but it is a powerful tool for mastering.
