Behringer Vintage v1.0.1 Incl Keygen-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 16 Apr 2024 | 38.1MB
Behringer launched Vintage, a free analog modeling synth, and the German company’s first synth plugin. However, there’s a twist – the plugin isn’t available for download right now.

The Mac and Windows release is a Prophet-inspired synth that Behringer states they modelled on the analogue circuitry of iconic vintage synths.

However there’s been a bit of a hiccup with the release, and the product page and download link for the plugin went dead shortly after going live, which we’ll cover in more detail below.

The plugin has two multi-wave oscillators (sine, saw and square), which are analog-modeled, as well as a sub-oscillator and hard-sync function.

There is also a noise generator with a color parameter that controls the lowpass cutoff, and you can modulate the pulse width on the square wave oscillator.

The Vintage synthesizer has two filters that offer 12/24 dB switchable highpass, lowpass, bandpass, and formant modes, as well as selectable drive curves for harmonic saturation.

The release allows for serial or parallel filtering, as you can mod the filter routing.

There are dozens of factory presets for the synth included, covering a wide range of sounds, as well as the ability to select favorites and save your own presets.

Behringer has made Vintage available via free download, which you can get after clicking through to get a free licence and registering with Behringer’s Music Tribe community.

After that, you’ll get a serial number that allows you to register the standalone build of the Vintage.

If Vintage users choose to make a donation to Behringer, the funds will go toward the Playing For Change Foundation, which builds art and music schools for children around the world.

There seems to be some funny business going on at Behringer at the moment, however, as the synth was available from the company’s website, but now the product page has been deleted.

There are already several demos of the plugin in action on YouTube, so it went live at some point. However, the exact status of the release is now unknown.

It’s not clear if Behringer is simply fixing a minor issue with its website or if the entire release has been delayed or perhaps even canceled altogether.

Some users have speculated that Behringer did not anticipate the level of demand the release would have, and the plugin is unavailable simply because the servers crashed.

A witch says,

Enjoy with this true RSA keygen!

... dunno, Happiness, I've never heard a deg's bollocks make synthetic squiggle-weeps before. In fairness tho, I don't get out much anymore.

Thank you R2R. I actually wanted to try this. It's sad I can't make this work officially. I mean it's a freebie wtf Behringer?

The plugin was leaked, it was not ready to be released to the public but someone found the testing/system check webpage and then the music media folks spread the news as if Behringer released the product, they did not. They never spoke a word about it until after the leak and then pulled the page.

Thank you for explaining that! I hope they ignore the leakers, and make some great VST's in the future!

The plugin no one needed or asked for. Ugh. About 5 billion other better options out there. Surprised they didn't just reskin Animoog or something.

I think you have summed up the reason Behringer withdrew the release.

It's pretty much not Behringer's fault that guy made a shyte demo video. There are much better videos that demonstrate its sound. Just search a little. it's not a bad synth at all. Nor the best. it should contain a lot of DeepMind's DSP code, I presume.

I don't think it shares anything with deepmind, unless the code is broken. if it was a software version of deepmind they'd include the factory presets

Thank you @Ampworks, thought the definition meant the exact opposite hence the atrocious, maybe this synth does sound good, it's just some non musician playing with that sequencer plugin which is spitting out the number one hit. Seems like Tone 2 have a contract with Behringer.

Does the world really need another vintage analogue model? I currently own Minimoog and Prophet apps from three different developers. But credit to Behringer for annoying the purists with their hardware 'tributes'.

As useful as a hole in the head. Nevertheless, as always: A huge thx to R2R , for the opportunity to test this...

Good Guy R2R. Cracks a free plugin plagued with DRM that was free for only a day.

I'm curious to see if everyone's right about how bad this is. It can't be that bad right? Right?

Update: OK, well that didn't take long at all. The presets are all dreadful. Completely sterile. Zero inspiration. But even worse, the plugin has a serious bug that causes lag and dropped inputs. It's too badly programmed for me to even bother making my own sounds.
Very digital sounding, Very deterministic when playing the same key over and over... Not a good sign. It's like it constantly retriggers everything when a key is pressed, almost like a sample.

But based on the presets, I take it this synth has no sweet spot, it's just overall sterile, and not at all a convincing analog feel. I also get the feeling that it's severely limited, it has no secret weapons or special features, so I'm really thinking people can pass on this one without fear.

I loaded up Charlatan 2.0 and Rob Papen Blue 1.0, and even Cherry Audio, just to make sure I wasn't biased. And yes, Cherry Audio is ACTUALLY better sounding than this, despite my typical dislike of CA.

It uses 30x more CPU usage than Charlatan, yet sounds 10x worse.

After reading all that backlash I decided to try it myself. Despite I didn't expect anything good, Behringer still managed to disappoint me severely. This plugin is UBELIEVABLY bad. Everything - I mean GUI, CPU usage, engine, presets, UX - is done as badly as possible.
