It's Sylab, but file name and path is Skylab.

I'm getting 'correct key, wrong email' notice while trying to activate. tried to change the email in the reg key, but it still wouldn't do the trick. does anyone have an idea

The R2R.txt is from another FKFX release and doesn't seem to have been updated for this release. Ignore point 2 and just follow points 1 and 3 to get it working. The file mentioned in point 3 has a usage section which reads:

Activate with following information.

Email : [email protected]
Key : XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
Name : (Any)

* For the key, you can replace 'X' to any characters from 0-9 & A-Z.


You can also change the email. The file mentioned in point 3 describes how to do that.

When a copy protection is emulated, all that's normally required is a small modification to the plugin to enable the emulator. This often works over multiple versions and even multiple products from the same developer.

In this case, you could load the .vst3 or .dll version of the plugin into a hex editor then search for text WININET.dll and change that to FKFXEMU.dll

This should also work with Influx, Noise Bleach, Obvious Filter, Vocal Freeze. It doesn't matter that the files are demo / trial, they allow you to activate them so as long as the emulator is installed and the plugins are patched, there shouldn't be an issue.

FKFX plugins and be "regged" pretty simple.

They don't check for any registration data, they only check for the existance of these 3 files:
License Key.txt
License Email.txt
License Name.txt

in
%AppData%\FKFX Audio\FKFX Sylab\Preferences

You can type anything into those files. Only requirement is, that the mail contains an '@' and a dot.
I used:
Key: 1234567
Mail: [email protected]
Name: r4e

and it was activated.

In Case of Audio Freeze it is this path:
%AppData%\FKFX\FKFX Vocal Freeze\Preferences

Interesting! I never thought to try that because I assumed the software would at least verify license information on each launch and that's why there was an emulator provided. This seems like a huge oversight from the developer.

Ye, seems like but it is like that since their first plugin release, they didn't change anything there. In my case I only patched the plugins ability to connect to the net/call home so if any online license check would happen, it would result in no change.

But that method also worked with the unpatched plugins on my test machine
