Retro Tools DSP Blues Tech v1.0.0 Incl Keygen-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 2024.02.14 | 3.8 MB
This plugin is based on a handmade DIY version of one of the best and most musical program passive EQs ever made. It is extremely accurate, offering a sonic performance that is indistinguishable from the originals, thanks to the cutting-edge Impulse Response based modeling technology.

Introducing the "Blues Tech": an exceptional digital replica of a handmade passive Equalizer, meticulously crafted to deliver unprecedented accuracy. Through the employment of FFT convolution-based emulation, we have achieved an exact digital "fingerprint" which perfectly captures the distinct curves of the original models.

Mastering Ready Audiophile Quality. Blues Tech has THAT 3D feel. Put it on your masterbus and get analog depth on your mix!

Control the amount of "Mojo" with the input gain. The more you drive it, the more non-linear harmonic distortions you get. Great for breathing more live into your tracks

The intricate interplay between filters, renowned for their smooth and musical curves, has been faithfully recreated, ensuring an authentic replication of the legendary interaction. To enhance user experience, we have developed a new layout that is intelligible even to those unfamiliar with the intricacies of the Pultec. Each band now features a corresponding gain knob positioned conveniently below, eliminating the unintuitive arrangement found in the original hardware.

By introducing controlled amounts of harmonic saturation to the audio signal (THD), our emulation technique adds richness, depth, and character to digital recordings, mimicking the unique nonlinearities of analog device.

In conjunction with finely calibrated frequency centers, boost/cut ranges, this plugin is ideal for executing classic EQing techniques, including the esteemed "Pultec EQ Trick".

We have expanded the low-frequency band by dividing it into two sections, empowering you to cut and boost at two distinct frequencies. This creative freedom, previously unattainable with the original hardware, allows for unparalleled audio manipulation, such as cutting at 30 Hz while simultaneously boosting at 100 Hz.

Imbue your vocals, drums, guitars, synths, or even the entire mix with the velvety analog warmth of this legendary tool. Going beyond the capabilities of other Pultec-style EQ plugins, the "Blues Tech" seamlessly merges the timeless sonic character of vintage hardware with the cutting-edge advancements in analog modeling that we have today.

just another eq , nothing special about this one

It's sampled, not algorithmic. It may be good or bad but you can't say it's just another EQ and nothing special.

Videos seem interesting enough to warrant a test drive.

Like that it adds weight to sonic pallet just through being activated (like hardware). Hopefully, this will be true in real life testing.

sounds like others are invading acustica's turf

The sampling is wrong in a way, they sampled the Boost and Cut separately but when combined it didnt really give the 200-500Hz usual dip perfectly, nowhere close. To get those dip recreated correctly both of the bands have to be polarity inverted and stacked in parallel, (the EQ being passive design) and must be coded separately. Apparently they just stacked the captured IR on top of another serially. The plugin doesnt behave like an usual Pultec that way.

Boost is low in amount relative to the Cut, at same amount of boost and cut, you'll get low freq attenuation which is weird for a Pultec that suppose to be on the boost side.

Harmonic added also static through out the freq range meaning it is not tuned just added for sake of having harmonic.

This is not "just another EQ". This plugin is a bad Pultec recreation.
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

What Pultec plugins you recommend instead of this one? Are there the proper ones?

I use the Overloud GEM EQP all the time, not necessarily the best but it gets the job done and sound awesome on the low end. The other plugin that in my template is the free Acustica Coffee The Pun (Chandler Tone Control, but can do Pultec and sound bigger and tighter), Red Rock Sound EQP-1A that has stronger color and the old Waves PuigTec because already get used to and been using it since before the civilization.

EDIT : I use a lot of PSP NobleQex too, love the attenuation shift feature.

For cleaner option, nothing come close to the Bettermaker EQ232D but some people dislike it for not having any harmonics, I use it on already stupid dense track that doesnt need anymore saturation.

Other good Pultec style :
1) Softube Tube Tech EQ MK II - arguably the best in plugin land
2) Noiseash RuleTec - overall good sounding but can be harsh on the high end sometimes on extreme settings.
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

the Apogee is the only one I use. "the best"? idk but the only one I liked, regardless of the actual proper endorsement. Overtone DSP is a forgotten one which is pretty good, but a bit on the dark and dull side.

Rule Tec has 8x oversampling but it only affects the harmonics, not the curve. So it's a cramping EQ and indeed may sound harsh at 44 and 48. The high end is better at 96 or 192.

imo Overloud GEM EQP is too much distorted with or without clipper
5db bass boost dominates the bass distortion

There's also Acustica Audio Ruby 2 Been liking what this EQ does compared to some other Pultec Style EQ's on low End stuff it has a bit of a different flavour and there's also Tim Petherick Dual Tech Tube Passive EQ I also really like this one

i like the curves very much but it doesn't produce any harmonics above -100db! (audible) as a vacuum tube eq

What is your opinion regarding the Ignite Amps one (PTEq-X) and the Analog Obsession variants?

not really totally pull-tec

But the bettermaker Eq is like a digital pull-tec and then I add saturation to taste
IT's always greatness

Is there something that can only be achieved with this one ? In my opinion NO. So the EQ is nothing special, but marketing makes everything possible :-) Have fun with this SPECIAL EQ

Only 3.8 MB for a plugin that is supposedly based on sampling technology like Acustica Audio? Sounds too small.
  Resident 15.02.2019 292

Acustica is dynamic convolution based on a whole library of sampled stuf. this is static impulse response FFT convolution. hardly cutting edge like they claim.
very "original company". Another Pultec was exactly what was missing on the market. I anticipate a Fairchild and a 1176 next.

This EQ has absolutely nothing to do with Pultec. this is pure marketing. There's a real lack of low end here. In general, Pultec style EQs are the ones I use the least. overrated.
The marketing industry has done a good job. As soon as some people hear Pultec, they prick up their ears. a driving force that brings in a lot of money
