The Glue is an analog modelled compressor plug-in based on The classic 80's British big console buss compressor with some handy additional features. The compressor action is smooth and transparent as it uses the same high quality algorithms used in circuit simulators, but optimised to run fast. In addition to the regular compressor controls it has: Mix / Range / Sidechain High Pass knobs, External Sidechain support, Peak Clip, and Advanced Oversampling.

Additions include an ultra-fast attack time of up to 0.01mS and a Range knob which backs off the compression to give incredibly natural sounding attacks and limits the maximum amount of compression applied. Also included are external sidechain support and an adjustable side-chain highpass filter.

After all the years and many studios I've been in and looking over the shoulders of professional musicians, the plugin has always been strongly represented. In my opinion one of the best SSL Compressors for any kind of application.

Finally did a proper test against Tim Petherick’s L-Bus V2 and The Glue is definitely cleaner and a bit less agressive and boxy. Most probably due to the fact the L-Bus comp is 44kHz (only the Pre is 96kHz). Running The Glue at 16x oversampling feels less congested and the top end breaths a little better. I have plenty of other tools for pres and to create depth, so The Glue will definitely become my main bus comp.

For me, the glue always go back into demo mode. I hope this version won't do that

had this issue too,
i deinstalled all old version through windows deinstaller...
then reinstall, created new auth (its called cytomic-auth.txt this time, not theglue in the name!) and works now.

Can anyone get the auth to work? I tried the drag and drop and I just get a stop sign logo and nothing happens.

Glue's compression action is the most accurate, but that doesnt mean its the best for you, you will have to try them both. And also Glue has no saturation (which will be addressed really soon).
The Range knob in the Glue is pretty important, it changes the attack behaviour and is key to match the hardware (~-40 = 4k G, Full = X-Logic), so dont ignore that.

The manual covered that abit, but the full info came from Andy (Cytomic) on Gearspace (or KVR, cant remember), i also did some Plugin Doctor to confirm.
Little fun fact i got from the GS post is that after Glue was released, the UAD G Bus mk2 also got a range knob (HR).
