Acustica Audio Magenta 5 2023-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 07 Jan 2024 | 423.0MB
With Magenta 5, we’ve reached a level of sonic accuracy that’s never been heard before. This astonishing plugin reproduces the same character, frequency and phase response of the sampled hardware units down to the tiniest variables, which are what make these sought-after units so desirable. We have even improved on some of the drawbacks and quirks inherent to the original circuit designs in order to offer you even more versatility. Magenta helps you increase the impact of your sound and achieve the results you want quicker than ever.

A Thousand Shades of Magenta

Magenta 5 replicates a series of high-end tube processors hand-built in the USA. It works wonders on single sources like drums, percussions, guitars, analog synths, bass, and vocals, but functions as an ideal mastering processor as well. From hard compression to velvety equalization and tonal shaping, Magenta’s intuitive controls allow you to select the perfect “color” for your mix, resulting in a multi-dimensional listening experience your ears will thank you for.

Your New Favorite Mastering EQ

With a retail price of over €6500, the tube equalizer we sampled for this fantastic suite of plugins is not cheap. Luckily for you, you don’t need to pony up for expensive hardware — the Magenta 5 EQ perfectly captures the even most complex nuances of the holographic stereo image of the original machine. Now you can have both a stereo and a mono version of this impeccable piece of equipment for a fraction of the price.

Do you use them all, or just a few?

Love Cardinal and Tulip for mixing. I just tried Magenta for the first time and it sounds amazing in mastering!

Supported sample rates are 44.1 and 96KHz only.

Wow! The EQ on this one sounds great. It has depth and poshness. It seems to round things without smearing. At least to my ear. Again, it depends on your music style, but it works for me.

I think how the hardware and it’s components effect the sound and how interactive the parameters are, is so much more complicated to be captured completely and convert it to codes.correct me if I’m perverse.
I mean the process is a whole fking different thing, and maybe we can capture some basic essence of a hardware ( frequency response and saturation for example) but I think it’s IMPOSSIBLE to even get close to hardware.
And maybe by some research and experiment some one can make good plugins, but ITS A BIG LIE and a developer TRICK to say its 100% like hardware and you don’t the need your hardware anymore.here im talking not just about AA, but every company that claims they make a plugin exactly like hardware.
If only one company had been able to make a plugin exactly like the hardware, there would be no more of that hardware available and everyone would sell their hardware to have more space and more freedom of action, while we see that this is not the case. In my opinion, G is talking nonsense and mocking. Don’t get me wrong, there are really nice sounding plugins in AA, but they are really really really really overrated.

In the end I have nothing to say to witches except hail and respect and love from a broken musician

even heat affects the hardware sound, and two units can sound different, not to mention components revisions etc. so it is not answering 2+2 but trying to achieve results as close as possible and reaching that 10 to 20% improvement over algos In exchange for cpu resource.

Yes one is electric and voltage based and other is codes…I think with great and careful listening skills and experience and combination of a few plugins with that ( maybe a combination of not hardware emulation+ emulation) we can get to something close to hardware…

Your point is taken. No plugins at this moment in history match what hardware does. However, why let perfection stand in the way of the good. Even in the hardware world the realized goals of ambitious developers have fallen short of their promises (check the history of Olive), and there has been good hardware and bad, and even good hardware fails and needs maintenance etc. That doesn't stop anyone from trying to get better and better, in either the digital or the analog world, and in the meantime being happy with current accomplishments. Sure, there's bravado and arrogance, and over-the-top salesmanship. So what? That's everywhere. It's the world we live in now. I just think if what I slap into an FX insert makes my music sound better than it did before I applied any processes, then who am I to complain who created it or how it managed to enter my world. We live in good times for these kinds of plugins to exist without having to rent studios or buy expensive hardware. Some in this community can do those things, and that's great, but many here can't afford those things. I'm glad that these are all here for us to try and learn from and, hopefully, create better music with.

Many thanks to the hard work of everyone, especially R2R

I appreciate these plugins and I use them, and for example, I know that the sound of an all-digital compressor is never the same as a hardware emulation compressor, I use hardware emulation plugins to warm up and make the sounds more beautiful, and This is a great opportunity and a great blessing for those who don't want to spend several thousand dollars for just one compressor, but for us to say that all the other simulators are not like hardware and we are the only ones who could simulate a certain part or all The existing delays all sound bad except ours, this is another big deception.G is doing this by turning a 30megabytes plugin to 10gb and very eye catching gui.
Just read LEMON description.he is saying all other thousand delay plugins are bad and can’t seat in the mix except our one.haha What he said is a ridiculous piece of shit.

when you copy something, you will only endup as the 2nd best version of it at max, doesn't matter how hard you try. it applies to being a musician, writer and anything ever including these hardware emulation plugins. Even if in a rare magical case a plugin somehow technically and artistically manage to be better than the hardware it models, people will endup saying the plugin not the same as the hardware for it, the "better" part of the difference is considered "not close to the hardware" and render it useless anyway. It has to be successful in a certain box of limitation after limitation, clearly knowing going out of the box is possible and could be successful but nobody will approve it anyway. Can't beat this shit forever. That's just fact.

Yes coding has many limitations…by the way it’s very nice to have these emulations…it’s better than nothing and one can get close to software with experience and analysis and listening with help of other plugins in a chain

Completely agree. It's strange these plugin companies hold themselves to an impossible standard which results in them lying to customers. I don't know what it is but hardware just sounds better. Running through an analogue chain just makes audio sound more pleasant to the ears and it's so much easier to hear what you're doing. I didn't believe it myself until I used an SSL console, 1073, Distressor and Pultec. They add a weight to the sound that cannot be replicated in a plugin (you'd need to combine many plugins).

If you suck at compression, use a hardware compressor one time and you'll hear what you're doing. It's something to do with using your hands and ears, and no eyes. It feels very natural interacting with audio that way.

i think skin files are in N2S container so only R2R can provide dark one!

ah ok. good to know. would have tried to get it from the demo somehow from aquarius. (if that is even possible )

What a beautiful statement.maybe it’s true about humans too!
Yes the texture and quality of frequencies are different…it’s not impossible for experienced and smart engineers to get close to real hardware with a chain of plugins and vital analyze tools.

We are not forced to live in the past. Only trust your ears. At the end the results i get with brainworx masterdesk pro is lightyears ahead any of the Acustica Audio "sampled" analog mastering "clones".
I love R2R :)
