Platone Studio StraightSet v1.0.1-TCD screenshot
TCD | 01.2024 | 3.7 MB
Going from loud to quiet in the middle of a DJ set kills a vibe completely. Spending hours tweaking the volumes of hundreds of tracks does so too. Now, there’s an answer to both problems: StraighSet, the first professional DJ helper software that normalizes the volume of tracks automatically.

Import as many tracks as you want.
Export at your preferred volume.
Done! All your tracks have the same volume.
StraightSet preserves the original audio dynamics of each song while assuring they all play at the same perceived volume. You can build consistent DJ sets by normalizing the tracks in a playlist automatically. Set the final volume easily by using the recommended loudness or choose your own volume.

Every dj hardware/software playing audio files have built -in auto-gain/normalizer, it's probably better than decoding/re-encoding ...

I use a GitHub project called mp3Gain which does the same thing as this. It's just better to know that your tracks have a consistent volume before you use them in a DJ set (Auto Gain isn't always reliable) Plus the conversion process doesn't use any compression so it doesn't change anything but the volume of the original file keeping the actual recording as it is.
If you just keep playing, one day you'll have mastered the game.

I was a vinyl dj during 20 years, dealing with volume variations between tracks is really not a problem.
Even with similar volume, some tracks are still louder than other in term of dynamics and "content".
Also most of those autmatic gain tool are based on peaks and not dynamics.
Anyway if there is no decode/recode it's ok.

I don't see the point of this. It's a DJ's job to level match the incoming track, that's always been part of the process. With most people using digital files these days they will already be normalised.

One of the most stupid apps ever. First, it doesn't write the new volume value directly in the file (as e.g. the 20 years old mp3gain and many others do it), instead It creates a copy of your MP3 and encodes it again! Wtf.... after conversion of a 320kbit MP3 you get a 280KBit MP3. Are you kidding me? And there is no option to change any of these bad behaviors.
Also it changes the date of your MP3, normally you don't want this.
Now imagine this mess with your mp3 collection of 20.000 files and 200 GB.
