Steinberg Backbone v1.6.0-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 01 Nov 2023 | 103.5MB
A revolutionary way to design your own drums
Backbone is your new, innovative drum designer for single kicks, snares, hi-hats, percussion, rises, hits and more. Layer up to eight samples and shape them with classic subtractive synthesis, decompose samples into tonal and noise elements, re-synthesize samples to manipulate them in unheard ways and apply up to eight effects with two fully routable buses — all with a slick, extremely fast interface. Backbone takes your drums into a whole new era of sound design — the era of drum re-synthesis!

Intuitively design drums with up to eight layers
Re-synthesize one-shots and loops
Directly export audio for clip-based music production
Backbone supports VST 3, AU and AAX

A witch says,

* No SteinbergLibraryMangager is required (optional).
* No SteinbergActivationManager is required.
* Loads faster than legit version.
* No compatiblity issue with other legit Silk and Silk powered apps.

EDIT: I fix the below issue by downloading the HALion and grabbing the 2 additional files from that (desktop.ini and Plugin.ico) and placing in the relevant folder.

Anyone else getting a desktop.ini installer error with this? I'm getting the below, and checking the location there is no desktop.ini:

Installer Information

Source file not found:
[downloaded installer file path]\VST3\Steinberg\Backbone.vst3\desktop.ini.
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

I can't imagine why it would even need or be fussing over a desktop.ini file. I thought they were generated by Windows and set to hidden?

But as you say, desktop.ini file error pops up and refuses to continue installation (Retry or Cancel, which aborts installation)

That worked for me, thanx :)
But it took me some time to find those files.
I found them not in the Vst3 folder but the Avid folder.
Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\Steinberg\Backbone.aaxplugin
Copied the 2 files, then installed, now it worked :)

Find and download Steinberg Backbone v1.5.0-R2R here on Audioz.
You can find both files on iso.
VST3\Steinberg\Backbone.vst3

For those who can not see those files:
Open the folder or directory in which you wish to display hidden files
Select the View tab
Click the drop down for Options and select "Change folder and search options"
Select the View tab
From the Advanced settings menu, mark the "Show hidden files, folders, or drives" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)"
Click OK
Use them.
I have checked, everything works fine for installation.
