Hilariously, I just decided to uninstall this today because I wanted to clean things up and reinstall over to a different drive. This version wasn't out on AZ yet. All I saw was v4 by R2R, and an older V.R version. I downloaded both and hadn't decided which to install yet... but now it looks like I have a newer V.R one to grab to install!

Arturia stuff is probably the one and only time I prefer V.R over R2R.

Why you prefer VR over R2R for Arturia ?

Actually I shouldn't say I *prefer* it, but more that I'm I'm just as fine with installing the V.R version. The V.R Arturia stuff seems to work pretty well. And of course V.R also releases a bajillion presets for it too (which you could use on the R2R version, but just saying).

On a similar note though of preference over R2R, Kontakt is another, but not towards V.R. I heavily prefer the portable version released by bobdule/vkDanilov and avoid the R2R version, which I don't think has shown to be as reliable. Other than that, R2R all the way.

@Stevie Dude, I don't use EzDrummer or Superior Drummer, so I wouldn't know on that.

R2Rs Kontakt is the only one i use with zero problems ! I cant understand why many people have problems . Thanks for your answer .

R2R's version doesn't support all the third-party libraries (and there are thousands of those), while the vkDanilov and BobDule versions do.

Could we get back to Arturia FX Collection 2023.10 CE-V.R please?
Kontakt have nothing to do with this, and there are already tons of comparison between versions / crackers.

We could speak about how Arturia FX Collection 2023 sound...

GUI error on EFX Fragments both VST2 and VST3 - Screenshot

probably will only need a replacement of "Efx FRAGMENTS_gui.xml" file. Anybody that got theirs working, can probably share it ? the one from previous installation will work. I think all of the plugins in the bundle are the same version V.R just added new plugin to the bundle.

The new EFX MOTIONS and the rest of the bundle working fine.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT : Managed to get them working now. I uninstalled, deleted all the FX bundle remaining folders manually and everything works on new installation.

I think the GUI problem caused by installing the newer bundle over the older ones without proper clean up, uninstall. Could be file conflict or something. Apologies if that causes inconvenience. Just uninstall the older version and install the new one. It should work. Never had to do this before with V.R bundle.

I love VR releases but it would be so damn nice if there were checkboxes in their bundle installers in which we could select the plugins we want to install.

Only XAIR did it with the United Plugins , hope they continue with other releases

Got the dreaded V.R 'out of memory' error on this one. Have installed a ton of V.R stuff, never got hit with it before. Tried a few "fixes" I found on other threads, but nothing working. Anyone know of a fix?

-Win 10 machine
-more than enough memory to cover the install 10 times over
-right after this one failed installed Augmented Bundle, no errors on that one.
-tried reverting back to older version of FX that I removed, now get error on that one too.
-stayed up all night trying to fix, NO f'n dice.
Any ideas? thought of trying R2R FX release, but not sure how that will play with the V.R Arturia stuff.

Did you do a clean uninstall? I used Revo and haven't had any issues with this release. It seems a few people are having issues, so you are not alone.

At first I tried just going over the prior V.R version. Got the error which stops the install, so I did a clean-up with Total Uninstall which is similar to Revo. That didn't do it either. It's a shame they encrypt their installers. Without that you could probably just pull out the VST3's and maybe get it working. Anyway, thanks for checking in on it, I appreciate it cliquid. Hopefully I'll figure out something, very frustrating.

Getting this too.. but I rebooted, and did absolutely nothing when Windows came back up, aside from install this FX collection. It is past the original error now.

There was a post about one of the other releases that people were getting the out of memory from. Either someone from R2R or V.R, or another group chimed in on the conversation and said that error happens when files (or folders) are locked. So that's why rebooting *should* work.

I'm sure you would have tried that though, and I know in the past that hasn't worked for me.. but give it a try anyways and make sure you don't open anything else until the install completes.

When Windows rebooted, I even left my security software on (MalwareBytes). I got the out of memory error with MalwareBytes OFF, but upon reboot, MalwareBytes automatically re-enabled, and things are installing fine w MB on.

This error can be a royal pain, so I just suggest a reboot and try and install right when Windows first comes up, and avoid opening any programs (and, unintuitively, resist temptation to turn off the A/V on your first try upon reboot... but try with and without it enabled after reboots if it still won't work).

I'd also suggest that you reboot again after any time you are unsuccessful and get that out of memory error again, just to be sure to try and release whatever file may be locked. There are also ways to tell what process has a file/folder locked, but I hadn't tried anything in that regard beforehand.

Thanks very much for your detailed response naitguy, I appreciate it! Unfortunately, I did re-boot several times during the hours I was trying to see if I could fix this. At a certain point I started digging around the registry, so after changes I was rebooting. No luck.

I don't think it would involve 'locked folders' since I've not encountered this with any other installs on my machine. But I will dig around tonight with "Lockhunter" software to see if there's any folders that might have that concern.

You get a weird series of error prompts with this problem. For example, the first one that popped up had to do with a desktop.ini for Arturia! How strange is that, a tiny little file? Tonight I'll also try installing in safe mode to see if there's any luck with that, along with your 'do nothing' after reboot and before install idea.

I've seen so many people run into this problem over the years without solving it, I'm not holding my breath at this point. I tried to crack the code on this for 6 hours last night.

I hope you get it resolved. It can be a real bitch to get working. Re: locking of a file or folder, I'm just giving the info that the cracker provided, and I think they would tend to know well on the cause.

Desktop.ini was the file I got out of memory on too.. right at the very beginning, essentially. The file didn't exist there, so I just assumed maybe something had a lock on the install folder.

BTW, I found the post, here it is.. as you can see, it was from someone @ R2R, and I trust that they would know what they're talking about... this relates to V.R's installs too:
Yes,
the problem is "simple".
some processess "use and LOCK" temp folder. process like "svchost or programs"

The "startup programs" can be tricky to load at ANY boot because programs like RIVA TUNER or MSI Afterburner, epic games store, Steam, (HWINFO - but expecially riva tuner and Msi stuff)...
CAN FOR SURE... lock temp folder. this have nothing to do with Pending windows installers or windows updates. it's a simple "locked folder by a process".

i can say you that is , for sure, a startup program that causes the issues.
try to CLOSE this apps one by one and you resolve your issues.

bye. ( from R2R ).

I'd say try disabling everything in startup tab of task manager (taking note of what to re-enable later), then reboot.

Okay, figured it out. F.I.N.A.L.L.Y.

You know how we keep hearing better not to mix different groups releases from the same developer... Well, last summer I downloaded an Arturia app fixed by R2R called Acid V. All the Arturia stuff I've installed has been from V.R. Guess I wasn't thinking and installed the R2R Acid V. Not long after I also did an update install of V.R Synths V bundle. Didn't even notice that now also had Acid V in it. The V.R install removed some but not all of the R2R Acid V files and this was where the mess occurred. Even the uninstaller for the R2R file was gone, which is why I didn't notice what was going on the first several times I went searching.

Did a total uninstall of the R2R version of Acid V, we're talking one Arturia app out of a zillion in these bundles, then was able to install the V.R FX without any errors. Unfortunately, with all the playing around I did, I now have to uninstall and reinstall most of the other recent V.R Arturia stuff. Turned into a lot of freaking hours (and stress!!) for one small error on my part. The moral is, when you hear don't mix and match from different groups with the same developer, trust me, they mean it. P.S. The whole "memory" thing was just a red herring.

Thanks again for your efforts to help out naitguy! Very, very kind of you

I had the same "Out of memory" exception. My solution was to create a folder in Windows Explorer and then point to it during the installation process. Apparently the installer wasn't able to create the folder itself.
