I'm gonna give it a pass, since it has saturation. Weird because I imagined the Sontec would be the one rich on harmonics, but it's almost pristine. Strange marketing.

I remember a ton of people back in the day through not too long ago, loved the old Metric halo channel strip, that also cramps in the highs, but it's mostly good and you can put so many of them across channels.

their Sontec plugin has weird harmonic generation that creates some sort of inharmonic feeling when you use it. Different from the usual 3rd order harmonic heavy style saturation known for solid state, which makes everything edgier and brighter, the Sontec plugin doing the opposite of warmth, cold, for lack of better word. I think it has to do with the harmonic generation and absence of filtering at the nyquist that suppose to control it somehow around the highest frequency range. It's not aliasing but just weird Inharmonic vibe. They also didn't add the noise floor, which makes everything feel static. You can compare it to the IK Multimedia version that has it, you can feel some sort of glow the moment you add the plugin without doing anything, it affects the harmonics movement to mimic how the hardware respond.

It probably wont matter much during mixing when the signal is at low volume but on mastering when everything is peaking near 0dbfs, the difference is huge. The track feels better off without their Sontec plugin. The hardware though, mastering engineers add it just for the fuck of it because it makes thing better. Quite the opposite.

If the dev cant even get their flagship plugin right, I doubt that these other plugin can do any better.

I’m sorry, but I feel that these plugins are some kind of joke.
No, I haven't used them yet, so I can't comment on how they sound, but the whole vibe makes me not even want to install them.
A developer who doesn't care about a proper GUI and has an attitude like Slate or Uli, "we're the best, our plugins are the best - we don't need to explain how they work, just throw them on the track, it'll be great." Yes, I’ve checked website, manuals are worthless also few videos from devs are more worthless. Not to mention that website still is not updated that plug-ins works on windows already.
So we get a limiter without settings? Some plugins named "good math" or "Kevin's limiter" - who is this Kevin? Who’s good at math? Kevin? Me? What math? Come on…
This looks like the project of a beginner teenager learning programming rather than professional plugins.
Sure, ok, you can talk about the sound, (but from comments here and about sontec they don’t look so extraordinary ) but I believe that the customer approach and visual presentation also contribute a lot.

Thanks to R2R, Decibelle for their again brilliant work but I’ll pass on those plugs.
