Helios Type 69 consoles are known for their smooth and harmonic sound, heard on legendary records by the likes of Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, the Who, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, and Bob Marley. Lindell’s 69 Channel Strip faithfully recaptures this classic tone in plugin form.

The Sound of The Original Analog Console with Expanded Features

Coveted for their unique-sounding preamps, precise filters, and smooth and musical EQs, Helios arguably made the coolest consoles of the 60s and 70s. Selected by The Rolling Stones for their famous mobile recording studio and used to record Led Zeppelin’s most enduring albums, Helios consoles were simple in operation but offered a complex and characterful tone that was hard to resist. Lindell’s plugin adds to the original by bringing the Helios bus EQs and compressors directly into a channel strip.

Two Classic EQs on Every Channel

The Lindell emulation combines two Helios EQs in one channel strip. First, there’s the Pre-EQ-69, a 3-band active bell filter loved for musical-sounding boosts and cuts that can add presence and air without harshness and fullness to lows without excessive rumble. Then, there’s the Passive 69, a 2-band shelving EQ with a smooth, musical response for adding depth, warmth, and detail with minimal additional coloration.

Includes HUGE-Sounding FET Compression

Used on some of the most iconic drum sounds in history, the powerful F760 Compressor/Limiters were part of what made the Helios line so alluring. The only drawback is that they were designed and implemented as bus compressors, so you could never reasonably have one on every channel… until now. With its distinctive sound and variable, attack, release, and ratio, the F760 is often considered a fun and flexible alternative to the 1176 by the few engineers lucky enough to own or use them.

Use It Anywhere

Lindell’s 69 channel can add warmth, presence, and character to vocals, helping them stand out in the mix. Use it to provide punch and clarity to drum recordings or to shape the tone of guitars β€” adding warmth, body, and sparkle to the sound. It can imbue digital keyboards and synths with uncanny character and depth, bring out the natural warmth of bass instruments, or impart a cohesive, three-dimensional, and decidedly β€œanalog” tone to any mix.

The Lindell 69 Series Console is not endorsed or licensed by Helios Electronics Ltd. The use of the Helios name is for identification and reference purposes only and does not imply any association with the trademark holder of their product brand.

yeah so what? you think I don't know I'm actually using the one by TCD atm, but was still waiting for this one...pretty pointless remark

anyway, I tried this strip and it sounds quite good actually. It definitely adds a certain colour/flavour (the preamp is very good), but overall I prefer the sound of the SSL and also don't like the workflow/limitations that much tbh. I'm just too used to them I guess ... to each their own!

I know everybody is super advanced at hacking and so, but, this question of mine is genuine: what is the main difference between TCD and R2R releases? thanks in advance, and also, I feel lucky that we have options to choose from!

I think TCD's version is not depending on your pa.license, and R2R is.
That means that you can use TCD with legit or R2R depended license, side by side
The more the merrier

Here is a detailed explanation from TCD how it works:

R2R's version, based on their "Patched and Keygen," replaces the official encrypted algorithm or extremely similar idea from the get-go with their own version of it, as they obviously know what bytes they are injecting statically because the bytes are their own. Then, their keygen simply satisfies the demand of what is now their own bytes. "Simply" because it is theirs and difficult because it takes the longer and harder (not slower or less-good for others) route of accomplishing all that, which is WAY easier said than done.

The TCD version works off of brute-forcing the known locations that look at all of this kind of thing in the first place, and just moves the correct value to the correct register at the correct function in the place the official code would determine what is going on with this all, anyhow. In addition, there are some little tweaks in there to keep licensing as a factor or a "thing" out of the user's mind in the first place, because if it works as it does, the end user doesn't need to know the first thing about it.

Interesting info, and informative, as it should be... if any competition among groups, it should be at a friendly level. I don't see why anyone would want to inject useless negativity, trolling, or bad intentions.

Much respect to both TCD and R2R.

this never happened "officially" in the Scene amoung teamz

and I think that it should be the same forever

cracking teamz that follow The Scene tradition think that way, and also new coming teamz with serious skills and will to grow agree

every team has to grow up with HIS OWN HARD WORK

Well - the "scene tradition" also involved anyone releasing something after it had already been cracked getting nuked... so I think scene tradition has been modified over the years!

I, for one, am glad that either simply doesn't happen anymore - or at least doesn't happen with audiowarez. I prefer to have R2R installed unless there's a specific reason to use something else, i.e. what I just experienced with the Toontrack EZ stuff. R2R didn't keep up with updates...

Both ways to crack the code is really appreciated. Good work to both groups. Now it's time to take this one for a test drive and see what it does. YMMV.
