SPX NEVERMORE - SYMPHONIC FLANGER

SPX Nevermore is my attempt at replicating the Symphonic preset from the 1990s Yamaha SPX 90 rack effects unit. As this was a budget 12 bit digital FX unit, and notoriously noisy, by default I have enabled the 'Noisy' and '12 Bit' switches. I found that this low bit rate, and background noise, needed to be fed into the signal before the stereo flanger effect, in order to emulate something close to the distinctively lofi sound of the original.

The SPX Symphonic preset was most famously used on bass for Nirvana's 'NEVERmind' album, and by Zakk Wylde for the guitar on Ozzy's 'No MORE Tears'.

99% of the interface looks straight out of soundtoys
Don't believe 'em when they try to say it's over!

I wonder if the original rack has that wood-like frame.
Because I think it's not the only plugin I see resembling SoundToys so much.
[2009] Sorry for my English. I'm working on it
[2017] I'm beginning to improve. Hell yeah, I'm a fast learner :D

they were inspired by the soundtoys design, it's not bad... the important thing is what the plugin does and if the interface is comfortable, even though it's inspired by other plugins, it's fine

You may be confusing 'inspired' with stolen!

who cares??
it's not the first or the last plugin dev that will copy another plugin dev's GUI design which b.t.w very rarely is their OWN design as they outsource the GUI to graphic companys anyway and very often it is the SAME graphic company

Damn. I'm not gonna lie, I'll be trying out this devs plugins solely because their company name makes them sound like a Sludge-Core Doom Metal band.

jesus, who cares about what other plugin designer the gui resembles in this FREE plugin? how about appreciating the actual sound of it and that the developer is putting in a bunch of work so we can enjoy this free of charge?

I care, and so do others i can see. I mean its a straight up copy of a Popular Successful famous plugin developers company. Its in the same lane as cheating. Not fair.

How many wanna try it Just cause it looks like a new Soundtoys Plugin! I know i did, but after realizing this i will never. I dont like copycats... Im an artist

"Its in the same lane as cheating. Not fair."
I don't have a clue what this means. Are they cheating by giving away more free copies of their plugin than they would have if it didn't look similar to Soundtoys design? (A design, I should add, that mimics many similar hardware flourishes... sorry, "steals" many similar hardware flourishes. )
But "I don't like copycats... Im an artist," may be the funniest thing I've read all day.
I'd be curious where this line between copying and taking-inspiration-from is drawn, partially to play the Devil's Advocate, but also because you seem oddly adamant about this.
