KG definitely works. Please choose the right plugin in the drop down menu of the KG.
This is a sequencer and not a synth. It cannot generate sound. You have to assign the midi form this plugin to your synth and the synth will output the sound of the midi pattern generated by this sequencer.
Heads up, everything works fine. Try it, you may enjoy it.
If you just keep playing, one day you'll have mastered the game.

I can't find the max4live version online anywhere? I would even buy it but had no luck so far. Someone has an idea?

The keygen definitely was not working the first several times I tried (FL Studio 20, Windows 10).
I also grabbed HY-SEQ32 and used keygen from there. Got on 3rd try.
