Plugin Alliance SPL PQ v1.1.0 Incl Patched and Keygen-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 2023.03.09 | 53 MB
The king of parametric EQs
The PQ Mastering Equalizer is a fully parametric, dual-channel five-band equalizer, based on SPL’s pioneering 120V rail technology. Able to switch between constant and proportional Q modes with the push of a button, this kind of circuit has not yet been achieved in any other analog equalizer.

Designed for precision performance
Each of the five bands of the PQ can be independently activated, deactivated, or switched between Constant Q and Proportional Q modes for even more targeted cuts and boosts. Thanks to the “1/4 Gain Switch”, you can reduce the range of the EQ from +/-20 dB down to +/-5 dB cut or boost to easily perform the small corrections common in mastering. And, with the detented potentiometers, precise settings are easy to dial in.

Now improved with plugin-only features
Brainworx’ familiar “Extra Unit” adds features to this legendary EQ that cannot be found on the original analog units. This retractable module includes Tolerance Modeling Technology, M/S Processing, Mono-Maker, Stereo Width, THD, Auto Listen for all five bands and more, providing everything you need in the modern digital domain.

FEATURES
Exacting emulation of the original analog PQ mastering equalizer, approved by SPL
Fully parametric mastering grade EQ, that offers precision, flexibility and detailed musicality
Independently switch between Constant Q and Proportional Q for all 5 bands for more targeted boosts and cuts
BRAINWORX Plugin Only Features added to the BX Module
Brainworx ́ TMT inside: Tolerance Modeling Technology (TMT, US Patent No. 10,725,727) simulates channel-to- channel variances in electronic components for the most realistic analog sound in the box
Auto Listen - To more accurately position the filter in the frequency domain by isolating the effect of the EQ
Mono-Maker - Sums your low-frequency content to mono, giving you focused, punchy bass response
Stereo Width - To expand the stereo width of your tracks
Separate Mono Version - for using individual tracks such Kick Drum, Snare, Bass, Vocals, etc.
Scalable User Interface

SPL is they king of throwing so many knobs into a tight space that I get anxiety looking at the plugin. I'm sure it sounds great, but my blood pressure is more sensitive than ears.

Ya true. Do you know if there eqs still cramp? I know soma did/does.

I'm not sure, I always look to Dan Worrall's YouTube channel when Plugin Alliance releases plugins. He usually will do a null test to check out the curves and test for cramping. He also explains things in a way I could never understand otherwise, or even know to look for.

I could just open up Plugin Doctor and check myself, but as he says, even if it cramps and sounds good, it doesn't matter.

I really wanna try this bad boy but am having an activation issue where the usb device is not detected in the dropdown list ? They are all accessible as devices in windows 10 but not the PA plugin menu.
I know theres an issue with sandisk sticks but I've tried 3 other brands and none show up. Any ideas ?
Fake people have an image to maintain_Real people don't give a shit.

I think u need to format the stick to FAT32.
I had similar issues long time ago.
Maybe it's the other way around, check if your device is NFTS or FAT32 formatted and then switch.

I'm using a SanDisk stick for my licenses that has worked fine for a few years. I have it formatted as exFat if that helps.

With each new plug-in launch, the interface is red again, although I choose black. Who can tell you how to make sure that the selected color remains by default?

Chose the color you like and then hit the logo SPL and there you can click "Set current UI color as system default" Hope it helps.

To my ears there are few plugins that sound musical, the Plugin Alliance SPL PQ is definitely one of them.

Literally was able to match 99% of the curves and all "modeling" of the SPL PQ in Equilibrium by DMG in about 1 hour. The harmonic analysis was negligible too.

Most of this plugin seems to be a nice GUI, along with their usual mono-maker, mid-side, choose-your-own-analog-channel-magic stuff. :)

But hey, it looks gorgeous!! :)

Just wanted to share in case anyone was curious. Plugin Doctor.

let me tell you a secret about Plugin Doctor. It doesn't detect frequency specific dynamic changes due to how it does it's thing, which is through a single sine wave. It is even worse if the plugin does it in parallel in its internal processing chain.

I mean if you set a 1kHz tone for testing in PD. It wont show anything that happened at let's say 100Hz and below because the plugin wont react dynamically to it because it detects nothing which is the totally the opposite of what we do in real life where we process a full bandwidth signal.

All these mastering grade EQ/Compressors plugins these days has some sort of this thing happening in their internal processing chain, especially those that been modeled after a passive type circuit where they focused on modeling the Input & Ouput stage (sometimes tube, sometimes transformer) that only react dynamically to the program material. Testing it with a mere sine wave wont give you accurate result just because you matched the EQ curve in Plugin Doctor.

You do the test yourself with say a PA Tomo Lisa and see what PD showing is nowhere near what is happening dynamically. Sometimes PD showing nothing while the GR meter is dancing. It is the example for how PD react to frequency specific dynamic processing that is done in parallel.
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

Thanks but, not quite. I'm still using my ears at the end of the day. It's clearly not enough to justify the cost or the gimmick in my opinion. I only tested the PQ I don't know about their other plugins.

I tested in my own studio with music and use Doctor as another utility. Not my only smoking gun. But appreciate your thoughts.

PS. The Plugin Alliance Millennia NSEQ-2 is FAR superior even to this PQ. Testing and ears both easily show this if you have a proper listening space.

Fact! Many EQ design does parallel processing in some point, DBX 242, designed by BobOrban is a typical example. (basically Orban 642 same topology)

Check some interisting notes from the 642's manual 642 Info
